Lusha export to email list: work emails kept, low-confidence leads flagged

In short: Reads a Lusha CSV, uses the work email as the send address (private emails only when asked), reads an email confidence grade (A+ and A as verified, B and below as risky), merges repeats and flags role addresses, webmail and domain mismatches. Limit: Lusha doesn't publish its CSV column names; Work Email, Private Email and the confidence column are found by name from an inferred list, so check the notes above the result.

Export the revealed contacts from Lusha as CSV and upload it here. The work email becomes the send address, private emails stay out unless you ask for them, a confidence grade is read where the file has one, repeats merge, and role addresses are set aside. Then check the clean file live before the first send.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the Lusha contacts before the first email?

  1. Download the clean list here.
  2. Upload it at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files; catch-all domains are marked. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
  3. Send only the valid file. Re-check anything older than a month before a new campaign.

How do I clean a Lusha CSV export before emailing it?

  1. In Lusha, reveal the contacts, save them to a list and export the list to CSV (search exports are capped at 150 contacts; download links expire after 24 hours).
  2. Upload the CSV here, or paste it. The email, name, company, website and status columns are found by name.
  3. Choose what to set aside: Lusha's invalid addresses and role addresses (on to start), accept-all and unverified addresses, personal webmail.
  4. Download the clean list and the set-aside file, each with a flags column (role, webmail, possible typo, domain differs from the company website).

Example

You enter
A Lusha CSV with 6 contacts and a Work Email Confidence column: 3 graded A+ or A, 2 graded B (one of them sales@), and 1 with only a Private Email.
You get
4 in the list (3 verified, 1 risky), sales@ set aside as a role address, and the private-email-only contact counted as having no work email.
Limits
Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.

Work email or private email?

For B2B outreach the work email is the send address, so it's the main column here. Private emails are personal inboxes: they are left out unless you tick the option, and flagged as personal webmail when read. Check the rules where your contacts live before emailing a personal address you got from a data vendor.

How is the confidence grade read?

Where the export has an email confidence or status column, A+ and A are read as verified and B or lower as risky. That is Lusha's estimate from when the contact was revealed, not a mailbox check, so risky leads are the first to send to a live check.

Who uses this tool, and for what?

Founders doing outbound
Turn a Lusha list into a sequencer-ready file without hand-sorting work and private emails.
SDRs
Set aside role inboxes and repeats before a Lusha list joins an existing sequence.
Agencies
Combine a Lusha list with other sources after cleaning, using the same output columns.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • Lusha doesn't publish its CSV column names; Work Email, Private Email and the confidence column are found by name from an inferred list, so check the notes above the result.
  • Grade words other than A+/A/B/C, or a numeric score, are kept as written and not turned into a class.
  • It can't tell which addresses have a working inbox today, or which domains accept every address; that needs a live mailbox check.
  • A lead database list is cold: nobody on it asked to hear from you. The tool doesn't make it compliant; follow the rules where your recipients are.

Common questions

Why are some rows counted as having no email?
Only revealed contacts carry an email in a Lusha export, and some contacts only have a private email. Tick the option to read other email columns to include those.
Can it tell which domains are catch-all?
Not from the file alone. It reads the vendor's own accept-all or catch-all label where the export has one. Whether a domain accepts every address only shows up in a live check, which /verify runs and marks.
Is my lead list uploaded?
No. The file is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

Sources

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.

Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.

  • Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
  • A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
