What the widget checks

No mailbox was contacted. That sentence is printed in the widget so readers are never told more than the checks can know. Confirming that a mailbox exists needs a live SMTP check, which is what the paid product does.

Looks deliverable

The format is valid and the domain receives email. The mailbox itself is not confirmed, so the widget never calls an address valid.

Risky

It passed the basics but is a disposable domain, a shared role inbox, a likely typo or a domain whose mail setup could not be confirmed.

Won't receive email

Bad format, or the domain has no mail server, does not exist or accepts no email. Mail to it will bounce.

WordPress

Two ways. In the block editor add a Custom HTML block and paste the one-line script, if your plan lets you use scripts in posts. Or add this shortcode once, in a code-snippets plugin or your theme's functions.php, and write [simpleverifier_email_checker theme="light"] in any post or page (theme can be auto, light or dark).

Some hosted WordPress plans strip scripts from posts. If the checker does not appear, use the plain iframe snippet from the generator above in the same Custom HTML block.

Webflow

1. Add an Embed element (Add panel, Components) where the checker should sit.
2. Paste the one-line script from the generator, or the plain iframe if you prefer. Save and publish.
3. The checker shows on the published site, not always in the Designer preview. Custom code in embeds depends on your Webflow site plan, so check Webflow's current plan notes if the element refuses code.

Notion

Notion pages cannot run scripts, so use the frame address instead. Type /embed, choose Embed, paste the address below and press Embed link. Then add a normal text line under it linking to simpleverifier.com/tools/verify-email, so the credit stays visible. Pick light or dark to match your page: Notion cannot tell the widget which one it is using, and Match visitor follows the reader's device setting instead.

Squarespace, Wix, Ghost, Substack-style custom domains and static sites all accept an HTML or code block. Paste the script, or the iframe if scripts are blocked. The script is served from simpleverifier.com/embed.js, reads only its own data-theme attribute, and never reads or changes anything else on your page.

Privacy and limits

• The widget page has no analytics scripts, no cookies and no ads.
• One event is recorded per check: the host name of the embedding site and the verdict. No visitor data.
• The address typed in is used for the check and not stored.
• Limits: 12 checks a minute per visitor and 120 a minute per embedding site.
• Only the widget address under /embed can be framed by other sites; the rest of SimpleVerifier cannot.

Common questions

Is the embeddable email checker really free?

Yes. There is no account, no API key and no limit on how many sites embed it. The only requirement is that the link to SimpleVerifier under the widget stays in place.

Does the widget contact the mailbox?

No. It checks the address format, looks up the domain's MX record in DNS, and compares the domain with a disposable-domain list and the name with a role-address list. No connection is made to any mail server, and the widget says so on screen. Because of that it can say an address looks deliverable but never that the mailbox is confirmed.

What does the widget send and track?

The address a visitor types is sent to simpleverifier.com to run the DNS and list checks and is not stored. The widget page loads no analytics scripts and sets no cookies. The only thing recorded is one event, embed_used, with the host name of the site carrying the widget and the verdict, so we can see which pages use it. Nothing about the visitor, such as an IP address, is recorded with it.

How is it protected from abuse?

Each visitor is limited to 12 checks a minute and each embedding site to 120 a minute. Limits are counted per server instance, so they are a speed bump rather than an exact meter. The checker calls only DNS and in-memory lists, so heavy use cannot reach our mailbox-checking servers.

Is the link back a normal link?

Yes. The script and the plain iframe snippet both put a standard link, with no nofollow, under the widget. It is the credit for the free tool. If a page builder strips the link, the widget should be removed.

Can other sites frame the rest of SimpleVerifier?

No. Only the widget page under /embed may be shown inside another site's frame. Every other page, including sign-in and checkout, refuses to be framed by sites other than simpleverifier.com.

How do I check a whole list instead of one address?

Use the free email checker at simpleverifier.com/tools/verify-email. Sign in with Google and the first 100 checks on a list are free, no card. Those are real mailbox checks, which this widget does not do.
