Free phone number validator

Enter a phone number to check it against its country’s numbering plan. You get whether it’s valid, its E.164 format, its country and the type of line its range is allocated for. It’s free and unlimited, and runs in your browser.

Checked in your browser against the country's numbering plan; nothing is sent to a server. Valid means the number sits in an allocated range. It doesn't mean the line is in service.

What “valid” means here

A valid number has the right length for its country and sits in a range that has been allocated. That catches typos, missing digits, wrong country codes and made-up numbers like 000-000-0000.

It can’t tell you whether anyone is using the number today. Disconnected numbers stay in valid ranges, and numbers ported to another network keep their digits. Only a carrier lookup, or calling, gets closer to that. The full picture is in how to check if a phone number is valid.

Common questions

How do I check if a phone number is valid?
Type it into the validator above and pick the country if the number has no + code. It checks the number against that country's numbering plan: the length, whether the prefix is allocated, and what kind of line the range is for. A valid result means the number can exist; it doesn't prove the line is in service.
Why does a US number show as 'mobile or landline'?
Because the North American numbering plan gives mobile and landline numbers out from the same area codes, and numbers can be ported between the two. The digits genuinely don't say which it is. Telling them apart needs a live carrier lookup.
Is this phone validator free?
Yes, with no limit and no signup. It runs in your browser using Google's open-source libphonenumber data, so there is no per-number cost to pass on. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
Can I validate a whole list of phone numbers?
Yes, on the paid plan. Upload a CSV with a phone column and every row gets a status, the E.164 number, the country and the line type, with a download of valid numbers only. Email columns in the same file get a live mailbox check in the same pass.

That was one number. Your CRM export has thousands.

This tool checks one number at a time. Cleaning a list means every row in E.164, invalid numbers separated out, and the emails beside them checked too.

  • Upload a CSV up to 100,000 rows with an email or phone column
  • Every phone gets status, E.164 format, country and line type
  • Emails in the same file get a real SMTP mailbox check

One plan, cancel anytime, no contract. The free tools stay free and unmetered either way — they are not a trial.
