ZoomInfo to Outreach: verify the list before you import it

Workflow · SimpleVerifier Team · Steps checked 20 October 2026

Export your contacts from ZoomInfo as a CSV, upload it to SimpleVerifier as it is, and import only the valid file into Outreach, mapping the email column to Email. Keep risky (usually catch-all) rows out of the main campaign and drop invalid ones.

Step 1

Get the CSV from ZoomInfo

  1. 1In ZoomInfo, run a contact search or open a saved list.
  2. 2Select the contacts you want, or select all results.
  3. 3Click Export and choose the CSV option.
  4. 4Download the file once ZoomInfo says the export is ready.

Exports can use credits, and an admin can turn off export rights for your seat.

Step 2

Verify every address

  1. 1Sign in and upload the CSV as it came out of the export. The email column is found by its header or its contents.
  2. 2Every row gets a live mailbox check with catch-all, disposable and role-address detection.
  3. 3Download the valid, risky and invalid files. Each keeps every original ZoomInfo column.

Then $9 for 2,500 emails, or $29.99/mo unlimited.

Step 3

Import into Outreach

  1. 1In Outreach, click the Actions button in the top right corner, then Bulk Create.
  2. 2Click the Prospects tile and select the valid .csv file.
  3. 3Review the field mapping; Outreach auto-maps columns that match its fields one to one. Enable Assign Account if you are linking prospects to existing accounts.
  4. 4Click Next, complete the Field Override section (owner and what to do with duplicates) and click Next again.

Column mapping in Outreach

Column in the ZoomInfo fileOutreach fieldNote
Email addressEmailOutreach allows one prospect per unique email address.
First nameFirst name
Last nameLast name
Company, to link an existing accountAccount or Account nameMapping it to Company does not link the account.

Column names in your ZoomInfo file depend on your export settings, so match them by what they hold. Field names on the right are as Outreach’s help article writes them.

  • Only .csv files, up to 100,000 rows.
  • Save as CSV UTF-8 (Comma-delimited) from Excel.
  • Accounts must exist before prospects can be assigned to them.

Which results to send

  • validSend

The mailbox server confirmed the address. This is the file that goes into the main campaign.

  • riskyHold, or send separately

Usually a catch-all domain, which accepts every address so no verifier can confirm the mailbox. Leave it out, or load it into its own smaller campaign at low daily volume so any bounces stay visible and away from the main one.

  • invalidDrop

The server said the mailbox does not exist, or the domain cannot take mail. Sending will bounce.

Things to watch with ZoomInfo and Outreach

  • ZoomInfo exports can use credits and an admin can turn off export rights for your seat, so confirm both before planning the import.
  • Outreach keeps one prospect per email address. Choose Skip under What to do with duplicates if existing prospects should keep their current owner and fields.
  • Outreach's Download now export is capped at 200 prospects, but imports take up to 100,000 rows per file, so split anything bigger before upload.
  • Under What to do with duplicates, Skip leaves existing prospects untouched, Overwrite Existing Fields replaces their values and Update Missing Fields fills only blanks.

Common questions

How do I move a ZoomInfo list into Outreach?
Get a CSV of the list out of ZoomInfo (In ZoomInfo, run a contact search or open a saved list. Select the contacts you want, or select all results. Click Export and choose the CSV option. Download the file once ZoomInfo says the export is ready.), verify it, then import the valid file into Outreach: In Outreach, click the Actions button in the top right corner, then Bulk Create. Click the Prospects tile and select the valid .csv file. Review the field mapping; Outreach auto-maps columns that match its fields one to one. Enable Assign Account if you are linking prospects to existing accounts. Click Next, complete the Field Override section (owner and what to do with duplicates) and click Next again.
Do I need to verify a ZoomInfo export before Outreach?
Lead databases go stale as people change jobs, and a bounced cold email counts against your sending domain the same as any other. Verifying the ZoomInfo export before it goes into a sequence keeps the bounce rate under the roughly 2% line where mailbox providers start filtering, and it catches catch-all domains you should not send to blind.
Which columns should I map in Outreach?
Email address to Email; First name to First name; Last name to Last name; Company, to link an existing account to Account or Account name. Set every column your copy does not use to skip or ignore.
Should risky or catch-all addresses go into the campaign?
Usually a catch-all domain, which accepts every address so no verifier can confirm the mailbox. Leave it out, or load it into its own smaller campaign at low daily volume so any bounces stay visible and away from the main one.
What does verifying the list cost?
Your first 100 checks are free after Google sign-in, once per account. Then $9 for 2,500 emails one-time, or Pro at $29.99 a month with no cap on email verification. Files up to 100,000 rows.
