The Cheapest Email Verification Services, Priced Per 1,000
The cheapest email verification service depends on how many addresses you have. On prices read from vendors' own pricing pages on 1 October 2026, Reoon cost least per 1,000 at 5,000 and 50,000 addresses, MillionVerifier cost least at 500,000, and DeBounce came second at all three volumes.
Below is the full table, the method behind it, and the arithmetic for the question most comparison pages skip: when a subscription is cheaper than buying credits.
How we priced it
Each figure is the cheapest single package that covers the volume, read from the vendor's pricing page on 1 October 2026. Where a page loads its prices from a script or structured data rather than plain text, we read the numbers that page loads. All prices are US dollars and exclude any promotional codes.
Two rules keep the comparison honest:
- Packages, not rates. If a vendor's smallest package is 10,000 credits, a 5,000 list costs the 10,000 price. That is what you would actually pay.
- One pass. These are prices for verifying the list once. A list you re-verify every quarter costs four times as much over a year on credits.
Cost per 1,000 at three volumes
5,000 addresses
| Vendor | Package paid | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Reoon | $11.90 (10,000 pack) | $2.38 |
| DeBounce | $15 | $3.00 |
| EmailListVerify | $17 | $3.40 |
| Verifalia | $28.90 | $5.78 |
| Bouncer | $35 | $7.00 |
| Emailable | $38 | $7.60 |
| MillionVerifier | $39 (10,000 pack) | $7.80 |
| Kickbox | $40 | $8.00 |
| Mailgun (validation add-on) | $60 | $12.00 |
| ZeroBounce | $69 | $13.80 |
At 5,000, Reoon and MillionVerifier both force a 10,000 purchase. Reoon is cheapest anyway. MillionVerifier's leftover 5,000 credits never expire, so its real cost falls if you will use them later.
50,000 addresses
| Vendor | Package paid | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Reoon | $58.95 | $1.18 |
| DeBounce | $75 | $1.50 |
| MillionVerifier | $89 | $1.78 |
| EmailListVerify | $98 | $1.96 |
| Verifalia | $219 | $4.38 |
| Emailable | $245 | $4.90 |
| Bouncer | $250 | $5.00 |
| Kickbox | $275 | $5.50 |
| Mailgun (validation add-on) | $420 | $8.40 |
| ZeroBounce | $499 | $9.98 |
500,000 addresses
| Vendor | Package paid | Per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| MillionVerifier | $299 | $0.60 |
| DeBounce | $450 | $0.90 |
| Reoon | $522 | $1.04 |
| Verifalia | $990 | $1.98 |
| Bouncer | $1,250 | $2.50 |
| Emailable | $1,350 | $2.70 |
| Kickbox | $1,800 | $3.60 |
| Mailgun (validation add-on) | $1,820 | $3.64 |
| ZeroBounce | $2,199 | $4.40 |
EmailListVerify drops out at 500,000 because its public pay-as-you-go packs stop at 100,000 ($186).
Sources: Reoon, DeBounce, EmailListVerify, MillionVerifier, Verifalia, Bouncer, Emailable, Kickbox, Mailgun, ZeroBounce. NeverBounce is absent because its pricing page returned HTTP 403 to us on the day; Clearout is absent because its page showed no prices in its text.
Three things the per-1,000 figure hides
What you are not charged for. Reoon says unknown results are never charged. Bouncer says it does not charge for duplicates or unknowns. MillionVerifier offers a refund on results it cannot verify with certainty. ZeroBounce says it removes duplicates and malformed rows before charging. On a list with many catch-all or unreachable domains, those rules can matter more than a few cents per 1,000.
Mailgun's pricing is marginal, not per package. Mailgun charges $1.20 per 100 for the first 5,000 validations, $0.80 per 100 for the next 45,000, then $0.50, $0.35 and $0.25 per 100 on later bands. That is $12 per 1,000 at the start. It also sits on top of a sending plan, though its Scale plan ($90 a month) includes the first 5,000.
Depth costs extra at Verifalia. Its prices above are for Standard checks (1 credit). High quality uses 2 credits and Extreme uses 4, doubling or quadrupling the per-1,000 figure in exchange for more retries against slow and greylisting servers.
When a subscription beats credits
Subscriptions look cheaper per 1,000 on the pricing page. They only are if you use the allowance.
The test is one line of arithmetic:
effective cost per 1,000 = monthly price ÷ (addresses actually verified that month ÷ 1,000)
Worked example: EmailListVerify
EmailListVerify sells 10,000 credits a month for $25, and a one-off 10,000 pack for $27.
| How often you clean 10,000 | Subscription cost per year | Credits cost per year |
|---|---|---|
| Every month | $300 | $324 |
| Every quarter | $300 | $108 |
| Twice a year | $300 | $54 |
Monthly cleaning saves $24 a year on the subscription. Quarterly cleaning makes the subscription nearly three times more expensive, because you pay for eight idle months.
Worked example: daily allowances
Reoon and Verifalia sell daily allowances. Reoon's plan starts at $9 a month for 500 credits a day. If you use every day's allowance, that is about 15,000 checks a month, or $0.60 per 1,000. If you only verify on weekdays, it is about 11,000 checks, or roughly $0.82 per 1,000. Daily credits renew each day, so a quiet week is paid for and lost.
Worked example: flat fee
A flat monthly fee with no credit allowance turns the formula upside down: the more you verify, the lower your cost per 1,000. Against Reoon's cheapest published rate at 50,000 ($1.18 per 1,000), a $30 flat fee only breaks even at about 25,000 addresses a month. Below that, credits are cheaper.
Which is cheapest for you
| Your pattern | Usually cheapest, October 2026 prices |
|---|---|
| One-off list under 100,000 | Reoon, then DeBounce |
| One-off list of 500,000 or more | MillionVerifier, then DeBounce |
| Steady 5,000 to 15,000 a month | A daily or monthly plan (Reoon, EmailListVerify) if you use it every month |
| Uneven, occasional cleaning | Credits that never expire |
| Signup-form checks via API | Compare API terms, not list prices; see Mailgun validation alternatives |

Disclosure — our product
SimpleVerifier, which publishes this blog, charges $29.99 a month flat with no credits; throughput is 45 addresses per minute. By the arithmetic above it is more expensive than Reoon for anyone verifying fewer than about 25,000 addresses a month, and more expensive than DeBounce or EmailListVerify below roughly 10,000 to 15,000. It is also slower than most of the tools above on a single large file, so a one-off clean of a big list is usually better done elsewhere. See /pricing.
The takeaway
Price the package you would actually buy, at the volume you actually have, multiplied by how often you clean. Then check what the vendor does not charge for. A cheap rate on a list full of unknowns can cost more than a slightly dearer one that refunds them.
Common questions
What is the cheapest email verification service?
It depends on volume. On vendors' own pricing pages in October 2026, Reoon was cheapest per 1,000 at 5,000 and 50,000 addresses, and MillionVerifier was cheapest at 500,000. DeBounce was second at every volume we priced.
How much should email verification cost per 1,000?
For a one-off pay-as-you-go purchase in October 2026, published prices ranged from about $0.60 to $13.80 per 1,000 depending on vendor and volume. Under 10,000 addresses, $2 to $8 per 1,000 was typical; above 500,000, the cheapest options fell below $1.
Is a subscription cheaper than pay-as-you-go credits?
Only if you use it every month. A subscription allowance that resets is paid for whether or not you clean a list that month, while pay-as-you-go credits that never expire cost nothing when idle. Divide the subscription price by the number of addresses you actually verify per month and compare that to the credit price.
Why is the cheapest price per 1,000 not always what I pay?
Because credits are sold in fixed packages. If the smallest package is 10,000 and you have 5,000 addresses, you pay for 10,000. The leftover credits only have value if they never expire and you will use them later.
