ZeroBounce is one of the better-known names in email validation, and it does considerably more than validate. Before comparing anything, that is worth stating plainly.
What ZeroBounce actually costs
Read from their pricing page on 2 September 2026:
- ZeroBounce ONE — $99/month billed monthly, with a minimum of 10,000 credits
- Roughly 20% less if you pay annually
- Credits never expire, which is a genuine advantage over monthly-reset models
- A free tier and a pay-as-you-go option also exist
At the $99 entry point that works out around one cent per credit.
The ONE plan bundles a real set of deliverability tools: 250 warmup seeds, 100 inbox placement tests, 10,000 email finder and domain searches, 10 blacklist monitors, 1 DMARC monitor domain and 100 email server tests.
The detail people miss
Credits are spent by more than validation. ZeroBounce's own page says credits are used for Email Validation, Scoring, Email Finder and Domain Search. So finding an address and checking an address draw from the same pool.
That means a month where you do a lot of prospecting is also a month where you can validate less — the two activities compete for the same budget, even though you would ideally do both freely.
There is a 10,000 credit minimum. If you verify 2,000 addresses a month, you are still buying 10,000. Credits rolling over softens that, but you are pre-paying for capacity you may not use for months.
The comparison
| ZeroBounce ONE | Simple Email Verifier | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | $99/mo | $29.99/mo |
| Minimum commitment | 10,000 credits | None |
| Email validation | From credit pool | Unlimited |
| Email finder | Same credit pool | Unlimited |
| Website enrichment | Not included | Unlimited |
| Inbox placement tests | ✅ Included | ❌ No |
| Blacklist monitoring | ✅ Included | ❌ No |
| DMARC monitoring | ✅ Included | ❌ Free one-off audit only |
| Warmup seeds | ✅ Included | ❌ No |
If you need inbox placement testing and continuous blacklist monitoring, ZeroBounce sells those and we do not. That is a real difference, not a footnote.
If you need addresses verified and found, you are paying $99 for a bundle where two features do the work.
Why we can drop the meter
Verifying a mailbox means opening an SMTP connection to the recipient's server and asking whether the address exists. Nobody invoices us for that. Finding an address means generating the handful of naming conventions a company might use and checking which exists — the same connection, the same zero cost.
Our marginal cost per verification is effectively zero, so a credit system would exist purely to charge more for the same work.
ZeroBounce's costs are genuinely different: warmup seed networks, inbox placement infrastructure and continuous monitoring all carry real running costs. Their model fits their product. Ours fits a narrower one.
Who should switch
Switch if you mainly validate lists and find addresses, the 10,000 credit minimum is more than you need, or you would verify more often if it were not metered.
Stay if you rely on inbox placement testing, blacklist or DMARC monitoring, or warmup seeds — those are not things we offer.
Test both before deciding
ZeroBounce guarantees 99.6% accuracy. We make no such number, because we would rather you check.
Take a fabricated address at a provider that rejects unknown mailboxes — definitely-not-real-xyz9987661@gmail.com — and run it through both. Gmail rejects unknown recipients, so the only correct answer is invalid.
We wrote up that test here, including the version our own engine used to fail before we fixed it. Run it on us too.
