Get the list out
A list nobody has mailed in a long time: a file you bought, attendees from past events, or an old export that has been sitting in a drive.
Export attendees from Eventbrite
- In Eventbrite, go to Events and select your event.
- Open Reporting, then Event reports.
- Under Attendees, select Attendees.
- Choose CSV as the file type, then download the report from the Exports tab.
To combine attendees from several events, use the Attendees report in your account's main Reporting section.

What verification does to this list
- A purchased list or an old file usually arrives as a CSV or spreadsheet already. Save it as CSV and upload it; the email column is found by its header or its contents.
- The older the list, the more mailboxes will have closed since it was collected. Those come back invalid before you send, not as bounces after.
- Catch-all domains come back risky, never valid, so you can hold them back while you see how the valid part performs.
- Verification tells you whether a mailbox can receive mail. It does not tell you whether the person agreed to hear from you, so check consent before you mail anyone, whatever the result.
Eventbrite: Attendees gave their address to get a ticket, not to join your newsletter. Check you have permission before you mail them, whatever the verification result. Eventbrite does not send your campaigns, so it has no bounce rule of its own. The rule that matters is the one on the tool that sends the mail you build from this list, such as your email platform or sequencer. As a safe plan, aim for hard bounces under 2%, the lowest enforcement line any platform we read publishes (Brevo).

How long 50,000 emails take
- We run about 13,000 mailbox checks a day today, shared by all customers. At today's shared pace, 50,000 checks in one list take about 4 days to finish. The list queues and its card shows the ETA; nothing is cut off.
- Check capacity is shared by all customers: list jobs run at up to about 60 addresses a minute while the day's capacity lasts, so a very large list queues rather than failing and can take days.
- Bad syntax, dead domains and disposable addresses come back at once, and results confirmed in the last 14 days return instantly, so a list you checked recently finishes sooner. Each job card shows an estimated finish time.
What you get back
- Valid
- The recipient's mail server confirmed the mailbox exists.
- Risky
- The domain works but the mailbox could not be confirmed, usually a catch-all domain that accepts every address. Anything unconfirmed is reported as risky, never as valid.
- Invalid
- The server confirmed the mailbox does not exist, or the syntax is broken, the domain has no mail server, or the domain is a known disposable provider.
Results download as separate files for valid, risky and invalid. The email column is found by its header or its contents, every other column in your file is kept, and the cleaned files come back with your original columns, so they import straight back into your sending tool.
