Woodpecker prospects to email list: a suppression file and the prospects safe to re-use
In short: Reads a Woodpecker prospects CSV: status (ACTIVE, BOUNCED, INVALID, OPT-OUT, BLACKLIST, REPLIED, AUTOREPLIED) and interest level (INTERESTED, MAYBE_LATER, NOT_INTERESTED); bounced, invalid and opted out always set aside, replies by choice. Limit: Woodpecker documents its status names (in capitals) but not its export column headings; Status and Interest level are found by name from an inferred list, so check the notes above the result.
Export prospects from Woodpecker (the campaign view keeps the interest level) and upload the CSV here. BOUNCED, INVALID, OPT-OUT and BLACKLIST prospects always go to the suppression file; REPLIED and not-interested prospects go there too by default. The rest are safe to re-use. Check them live before the next campaign.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the reusable prospects before the next campaign?
- Download the reusable prospects here.
- Upload them at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files; catch-all domains are marked. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- Import only the valid file into the new campaign.
How do I build a suppression list from a Woodpecker export?
- In Woodpecker, open the campaign's Prospects tab (interest level only exports from the campaign view) or the main Prospects list, filter by status if you like, select the prospects and export to CSV.
- Upload the CSV here, or paste it. Exports from several campaigns can be pasted one after another; repeats merge.
- Choose what to set aside besides bounces and opt-outs: replied or interested (on), not interested (on), risky verification, role addresses.
- Download the reusable prospects and the suppression file. Add the suppression file to every other tool you send from.
Example
- You enter
- A Woodpecker campaign export with 7 prospects:
StatusNONRESPONSIVE, BOUNCED, OPT-OUT, REPLIED (twice), INVALID and AUTOREPLIED,Interest levelINTERESTED and NOT_INTERESTED. - You get
- 2 prospects safe to re-use (nonresponsive and autoreplied) and a 5-prospect suppression file: bounced, opted out, invalid, the interested reply and the not-interested reply.
- Limits
- Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.
What happens to AUTOREPLIED and NONRESPONSIVE prospects?
They stay in the reusable file. An autoreply is an out-of-office or a mailbox rule, not an answer from the person, and nonresponsive means the sequence ended with no reply. Both are the usual pool for a new angle.
BOUNCED, INVALID, OPT-OUT and BLACKLIST are always set aside. Woodpecker's help notes OPT-OUT is set by hand and only reversed by hand, so treat it as final.
Is a nonresponsive prospect still safe?
Not for long. A prospect who went through a campaign three months ago may have changed jobs since, and work inboxes close when people leave. A live mailbox check finds the ones that closed.
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Cold email agencies
- Move a client's prospects out of Woodpecker with a suppression file the next tool can import.
- SDRs
- Re-run nonresponsive prospects with a new angle, without the bounces and opt-outs.
- Founders
- Keep one suppression list across Woodpecker and your CRM.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- Woodpecker documents its status names (in capitals) but not its export column headings; Status and Interest level are found by name from an inferred list, so check the notes above the result.
- Opt-outs on Woodpecker's account-wide blacklist that aren't on a prospect in this export won't be in the file.
- It can't tell which addresses have a working inbox today; that needs a live mailbox check.
Common questions
- Which Woodpecker columns does it read?
- The email, the prospect status, the interest level when exported from a campaign, and a verification column if present. The notes above the result say which were found.
- Why is the interest level missing from my file?
- Woodpecker only exports interest level from the campaign view, not from the main Prospects tab. Export from the campaign to get it.
- Is my prospect list uploaded?
- No. The file is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.
Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.
- Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
- A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
