lemlist leads to email list: a suppression file and the leads safe to re-use
In short: Reads a lemlist leads CSV, reads lastState or status (bounced, unsubscribed, interested, not interested, replied) and emailStatus, sets aside bounced and unsubscribed always, replied and not-interested by choice, merges the same lead across campaigns. Limit: lemlist doesn't publish its CSV export headings; status names such as lastState, emailsBounced and emailStatus are inferred from its API and help pages, so check the notes above the result.
Export the leads from a lemlist campaign as CSV and upload it here. Bounced and unsubscribed leads always go to the suppression file; leads who replied, are interested or said no go there too by default, so they don't get a cold sequence again. The rest are the leads safe to re-use. Check them live before the next campaign.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the reusable leads before the next campaign?
- Download the reusable leads here.
- Upload them at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files; catch-all domains are marked. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- Import only the valid file into the new campaign.
How do I build a suppression list from a lemlist export?
- In lemlist, open the campaign's Leads tab. Filter by status if you like, tick the leads and choose Export as .CSV from the bulk actions bar.
- Upload the CSV here, or paste it. Several campaign exports can be pasted one after another; repeats merge.
- Choose what to set aside besides bounces and unsubscribes: replied or interested (on), not interested (on), risky email status, role addresses.
- Download the reusable leads and the suppression file. Add the suppression file to every other tool you send from.
Example
- You enter
- A lemlist leads export with 7 rows from 2 campaigns:
lastStateof emailsBounced, emailsUnsubscribed, emailsInterested, emailsNotInterested, emailsOpened, emailsSent and emailsClicked, with Ana in both campaigns. - You get
- 2 leads safe to re-use and a 4-lead suppression file: bounced, unsubscribed, interested (handle by hand) and Ana, merged, whose second campaign said not interested.
- Limits
- Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.
Why put replied and interested leads in the suppression file?
Someone who replied, booked a meeting or asked you to stop is past the cold stage. Putting them in a new cold sequence reads as automation that ignored their answer, and it's where spam complaints come from. They're set aside to start, so you can handle them by hand; untick the option to keep them.
Bounced and unsubscribed leads are always set aside. lemlist's own help notes that a bounce marks that address as unsubscribed in lemlist, so they shouldn't come back through another tool either.
Is a lead that didn't bounce still safe?
Not for long. A lead that went through a sequence three months ago may have changed jobs since, and work inboxes close when people leave. Before re-using leads in a new campaign, a live mailbox check finds the ones that closed.
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Cold email agencies
- Move a client off lemlist with a suppression file the next sequencer can import.
- SDRs
- Recycle the leads that never answered into a new angle, without the bounces and the people who said no.
- Founders
- Keep one suppression list across lemlist, Instantly and your CRM.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- lemlist doesn't publish its CSV export headings; status names such as lastState, emailsBounced and emailStatus are inferred from its API and help pages, so check the notes above the result.
- It only knows what's in the export. A lead unsubscribed in lemlist's Unsubscribes section but not in this campaign export won't be in the file; export that section too.
- It can't tell which addresses have a working inbox today; that needs a live mailbox check.
Common questions
- Which lemlist columns does it read?
- The email, a status column (lastState, status or state), an interest column if present, and emailStatus when lemlist checked the address. The notes above the result say which were found.
- Can I combine exports from several campaigns?
- Yes. Paste them one after another or combine them first; the same address merges, and the strongest reason to suppress it wins.
- Is my lead list uploaded?
- No. The file is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.
Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.
- Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
- A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
