T-Online email checker: is this t-online.de address usable?

In short: Checks t-online.de addresses for syntax, typo domains, mail servers and disposable or role use, and says plainly that Telekom's servers refuse checking servers before the mailbox question. Limit: It does not confirm that a T-Online mailbox exists. Well-formed addresses come back risky.

This T-Online email checker tests a t-online.de address for broken syntax, typo domains, a missing mail server and disposable or role use, without sending anything. It can't confirm the mailbox: Telekom's mail servers refused our checking server at the greeting on 12 October and 8 November 2026, citing reputation, so a well-formed address comes back risky, never valid or invalid.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. Check your list free nowSee pricing

Tuned for t-online.de. Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

What can a check confirm at T-Online, and what did we measure there? Can you verify a T-Online address?

How do I check a whole list of T-Online addresses?

  1. Export the list as a CSV or copy the email column; T-Online rows and every other domain can go in together.
  2. Upload or paste it at /verify. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
  3. For every list after that, Pro includes unlimited email verification. Fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off.

How do I check a T-Online email address?

  1. Type or paste one address, such as [email protected].
  2. Press Check. Syntax, domain, mail server, disposable and role checks run, then the tool tries T-Online's mail server and disconnects before anything is sent.
  3. Read the verdict. Invalid means the address can't receive mail (bad syntax, typo domain, throwaway domain). Risky with "Server refused our check" means Telekom turned the checking server away, which says nothing about the mailbox.
  4. Decide risky T-Online addresses by where they came from and when they last engaged.

Example

You enter
One address: [email protected].
You get
Risky, with the reason "Server refused our check": syntax, domain, disposable and role checks passed, and Telekom's server turned the checking server away at the greeting. Broken syntax, a typo domain or a disposable domain comes back invalid.
Limits
Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.

Can you check if a T-Online address exists?

Not with an SMTP check from our server right now, and this checker doesn't pretend otherwise. On 8 November 2026 t-online.de published four MX hosts, mx00 to mx03.t-online.de. On 12 October 2026 they answered our checking server at the greeting with 554 None/bad reputation. Ask your postmaster for help, and on 8 November the check was refused again.

A refusal at the greeting comes before any address is named, so it can't mean the mailbox is missing. SimpleVerifier returns these as risky with "Server refused our check". What the checker still catches is what breaks most rows: a mistyped address, a typo domain, a throwaway domain or a shared role inbox. The T-Online provider page has the live DNS.

Why does Telekom care so much about bounces?

Telekom's postmaster page asks professional senders to keep SMTP errors at or below 3% at peak and 1.5% on average, and reads higher rates as stale addresses or missing double opt-in. It also asks bulk senders to delete or block addresses they have had no contact with for more than three months.

@t-online.de addresses can change hands. When a Telekom landline ends and the address isn't moved to Freemail within 180 days, Telekom's help page says the mailbox is deleted, the address locked for 90 days and then released to the public. An old T-Online contact may now belong to someone new.

What should I do with T-Online addresses on my list?

Since no outside check can confirm them today, recency is the signal to trust. Keep T-Online contacts who opened, clicked or replied in the last three months, send older ones a small first batch, and re-confirm anyone collected more than a year ago.

For the other big German webmail providers, the WEB.DE email checker and GMX address checker say what their servers allow. To check a whole list, the bulk email checker runs every row.

What can this checker confirm at T-Online?

Each row is something the check runs on a T-Online address, and the result you can get from it.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • It does not confirm that a T-Online mailbox exists. Well-formed addresses come back risky.
  • It can't tell whether an address was released and reissued after a contract ended.
  • Telekom doesn't publish how its servers answer checks from other servers; the handling here is from our own checks, which can change.
  • One address at a time, five a minute.

Common questions

How do I check if a t-online.de address is valid?
This checker confirms the syntax, the mail servers and whether the address is disposable or a role inbox. It can't confirm the mailbox: Telekom refused our checking server in October and November 2026, so a well-formed t-online.de address comes back risky.
What does 554 None/bad reputation mean from T-Online?
Telekom's server turned away the connecting server because of that server's reputation, before any recipient was named. It is about the sender or checker, not about whether a mailbox exists.
Can a t-online.de address be given to someone else?
Yes. Telekom's help says that when a landline contract ends and the address isn't kept as Freemail within 180 days, the mailbox is deleted, the address locked for 90 days and then released.
What bounce rate does Telekom accept?
Telekom's postmaster page asks for SMTP errors of at most 3% at peak and 1.5% on average from professional senders.
Is this checker free?
