SFR email checker: sfr.fr and neuf.fr

In short: Asks SFR's own mail server whether an sfr.fr, neuf.fr or cegetel.net mailbox exists, without sending anything, after syntax, domain, disposable and role checks. Limit: A valid result shows SFR accepted the mailbox today, not that anyone reads it.

To check if an SFR address exists, enter it here. The checker asks SFR's mail server about an sfr.fr, neuf.fr or cegetel.net mailbox at RCPT TO, then disconnects before any message is sent. SFR rejected made-up addresses with 550 5.1.1 … User unknown on 13 October and 8 November 2026, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid and an accepted one valid.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. Check your list free nowSee pricing

Tuned for sfr.fr, neuf.fr, cegetel.net. Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

How do I check a whole list of SFR addresses?

  1. Export the list as a CSV or copy the email column; SFR rows and every other domain can go in together.
  2. Upload or paste it at /verify. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
  3. For every list after that, Pro includes unlimited email verification. Fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off.

How do I check an SFR email address?

  1. Type or paste one address, such as [email protected] or [email protected].
  2. Press Check. The tool checks the syntax and domain, asks SFR's server about a random address that can't exist, then about yours, and disconnects before anything is sent.
  3. Read the verdict: valid means SFR accepted the mailbox and rejected the made-up one, invalid means it said the user is unknown, risky means the check didn't get a clear answer.
  4. If it comes back risky, check again later: with SFR that is usually a cut-short check, not a bad address.

Example

You enter
One address: [email protected].
You get
Valid when SFR accepts the mailbox after rejecting a random address; invalid ("Mailbox not found") when it answers 550 5.1.1 … User unknown; risky only when the check gets no clear answer.
Limits
Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.

Can you check if an SFR email address exists?

Yes. On 8 November 2026 sfr.fr, neuf.fr and cegetel.net all published the same MX host, smtp-in.sfr.fr. On 13 October 2026 it answered a made-up sfr.fr address at RCPT TO with 550 5.1.1 Recipient address rejected: User unknown, and a fresh made-up address got the same rejection through this checker on 8 November.

A rejection comes back invalid ("Mailbox not found") and an acceptance valid, after a random address is tested first so a yes means something. The SFR provider page has the full DNS snapshot.

What happens to an @sfr.fr address when someone leaves SFR?

SFR's help page says addresses in the form [email protected] or [email protected] stop being accessible once a SFR Box or SFR Mobile line is cancelled, while other @sfr.fr addresses stay accessible for 12 months. Contacts who left SFR may have a dead address on your list.

SFR also blocks mailboxes for unusual activity and names not having used the address in the last six months as one possible cause. Re-check older SFR contacts before a send and remove hard bounces.

Can I check a whole list of French addresses?

Yes. Sign in and use the bulk verifier for a CSV or a pasted list; SFR rows get the same mailbox check as here, alongside Orange, La Poste, Gmail and everything else.

For the other big French providers, the Orange email checker and La Poste email checker say what their servers answer. The email checker handles any other domain.

Each row is something the check runs on a SFR address, and the result you can get from it.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • A valid result shows SFR accepted the mailbox today, not that anyone reads it.
  • A temporary reply or a refused connection comes back risky, not invalid.
  • SFR doesn't publish how its servers answer mailbox checks; the handling here is from our own checks, which can change.
  • One address at a time, five a minute.

Common questions

How do I check if an sfr.fr email address is valid?
Enter it here. The checker confirms the syntax and mail server, then asks SFR's server about the mailbox without sending. SFR rejects addresses that don't exist, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid.
Are neuf.fr addresses SFR addresses?
They use SFR's mail server: on 8 November 2026 neuf.fr and cegetel.net published the same MX host as sfr.fr, smtp-in.sfr.fr, so this checker covers all three.
Does an @sfr.fr address stop working after I cancel SFR?
SFR's help says 06 and 07 number addresses stop being accessible after a SFR Box or SFR Mobile line is cancelled, and other @sfr.fr addresses stay accessible for 12 months.
Why did my SFR address come back risky?
SFR answers mailbox checks, so risky usually means the check was cut short by a temporary reply or a refused connection. Check again later before you drop the address.
Is this checker free?
Yes, five checks a minute with no account. For a whole list, sign in with Google for 100 free email checks, no card, or use a monthly plan.
