La Poste email checker: does this laposte.net mailbox exist?

In short: Asks La Poste's own mail server whether a laposte.net mailbox exists, without sending anything, after syntax, domain, disposable and role checks. Limit: A valid result shows La Poste accepted the mailbox today, not that anyone reads it.

To check if a laposte.net address exists, enter it here. The checker asks La Poste's mail server about the mailbox at RCPT TO, then disconnects before any message is sent. La Poste rejected made-up addresses with 550 5.1.1 … User unknown on 12 October and 8 November 2026, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid and an accepted one valid.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. Check your list free nowSee pricing

Tuned for laposte.net. Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

How do I check a whole list of La Poste addresses?

  1. Export the list as a CSV or copy the email column; La Poste rows and every other domain can go in together.
  2. Upload or paste it at /verify. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
  3. For every list after that, Pro includes unlimited email verification. Fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off.

How do I check a La Poste email address?

  1. Type or paste one address, such as [email protected].
  2. Press Check. The tool checks the syntax and domain, asks La Poste's server about a random address that can't exist, then about yours, and disconnects before anything is sent.
  3. Read the verdict: valid means La Poste accepted the mailbox and rejected the made-up one, invalid means it said the user is unknown, risky means the check didn't get a clear answer.
  4. If it comes back risky, check again later: with La Poste that is usually a cut-short check, not a bad address.

Example

You enter
One address: [email protected].
You get
Valid when La Poste accepts the mailbox after rejecting a random address; invalid ("Mailbox not found") when it answers 550 5.1.1 … User unknown; risky only when the check gets no clear answer.
Limits
Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.

How do I check if a laposte.net address exists without emailing it?

Ask La Poste's mail server instead of the mailbox. On 8 November 2026 laposte.net published one MX host, smtpz4.laposte.net. On 12 October 2026 it answered a made-up address at RCPT TO with 550 5.1.1 Recipient address rejected: User unknown. Adresse destinataire invalide. Invalid recipient. LPN007_416, and a fresh made-up address got the same rejection through this checker on 8 November.

That makes laposte.net one of the providers where a single mailbox can be confirmed: a rejection comes back invalid ("Mailbox not found") and an acceptance valid. The La Poste provider page has the full DNS snapshot.

Why do laposte.net addresses go dead?

The laposte.net terms treat a mailbox with no login for four consecutive months as frozen, with its contents open to purging, and allow permanent deletion after 28 months with no activity. A help page adds that a new mailbox never opened in its first 72 hours is deleted.

The same terms say a deleted address and its aliases can't be created again for 30 years, so a dead laposte.net address stays dead rather than passing to someone new. If you send from your own domain, laposte.net refuses mail without a valid DKIM signature.

Can I check a whole list of French addresses?

Yes. Sign in and use the bulk verifier for a CSV or a pasted list; laposte.net rows get the same mailbox check as here, alongside Orange, Free, SFR and everything else. Because La Poste freezes mailboxes after four idle months, re-check a French list every few months.

For the other big French providers, the Orange email checker and SFR email checker say what their servers answer. The email checker handles any other domain.

What can this checker confirm at La Poste?

Each row is something the check runs on a La Poste address, and the result you can get from it.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • A valid result shows La Poste accepted the mailbox today, not that anyone reads it.
  • A temporary reply or a refused connection comes back risky, not invalid.
  • La Poste doesn't publish how its servers answer mailbox checks; the handling here is from our own checks, which can change.
  • One address at a time, five a minute.

Common questions

How do I check if a laposte.net email address is valid?
Enter it here. The checker confirms the syntax and mail server, then asks La Poste's server about the mailbox without sending. La Poste rejects addresses that don't exist, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid.
Does laposte.net delete inactive mailboxes?
Its terms treat a mailbox with no login for four consecutive months as frozen and allow permanent deletion after 28 months with no activity. A new mailbox never opened in its first 72 hours is deleted.
What does LPN007_416 mean in a La Poste bounce?
It is La Poste's own reference on the 550 5.1.1 User unknown rejection we got for a made-up address. Treat it as a hard bounce and remove the address.
Can a deleted laposte.net address be reused?
Not for a long time: the laposte.net terms say a deleted address and its aliases can't be created again for 30 years after deletion.
Is this checker free?
Yes, five checks a minute with no account. For a whole list, sign in with Google for 100 free email checks, no card, or use a monthly plan.
