Salesforce contacts to email list: without Email Opt Out and bounced contacts
In short: Reads a Salesforce Contacts or Leads report (Details Only CSV) or Data Loader file: Email Opt Out / HasOptedOutOfEmail read only as an opt-out, Email Bounced Reason or Date set aside, Other Email optional, repeats merged. Limit: Report column labels depend on your org and language; Email Opt Out and Email Bounced Reason are found by their standard English labels and API names, so check the notes above the result.
Build a Contacts or Leads report with Email, Email Opt Out and Email Bounced Reason as columns, export it as Details Only CSV and upload it here. Ticked opt-outs are always set aside, and any contact with a bounce reason or date is set aside too. A blank or unticked opt-out is not read as consent. Check what's left live before you send.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the send list before the next campaign?
- Download the send list here.
- Upload it at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files; catch-all domains are marked. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- Send to the valid file, and keep the set-aside file as a suppression list.
How do I turn a Salesforce report into a clean email list?
- In Salesforce, create a Contacts (or Leads) report and add Email, Email Opt Out and Email Bounced Reason (or Email Bounced Date) as columns.
- Click Export, choose Details Only, format .csv, and pick the encoding for your language so names come through intact.
- Upload the CSV here, or paste it. Repeats merge; an opt-out or bounce on any copy wins.
- Download the send list and the set-aside file. Check the send list live before the campaign.
Example
- You enter
- A Salesforce Contacts report with 7 rows:
Email Opt Out1 on Mia and on one of Ana's two copies, a 550Email Bounced Reasonon Leo, and one contact with no email. - You get
- 2 contacts to send, Ana and Mia set aside for opting out (Ana merged), Leo set aside for the bounce, and 1 contact counted as having no email.
- Limits
- Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.
Why isn't an unticked Email Opt Out read as consent?
Email Opt Out is a checkbox that someone ticks when a person asks to stop. Unticked only means nobody ticked it; it says nothing about whether the person agreed to marketing. The tool reads it one way only: ticked is an opt-out, everything else is unknown.
Salesforce's own help notes the box keeps people out of list email but not every message type, so it's worth honouring outside Salesforce too.
Why set aside anyone with a bounce reason?
Email Bounced Reason and Email Bounced Date are only filled in once bounce management is on and a message from Salesforce bounced. A value there means the address failed at least once; Salesforce doesn't suppress it from future sends by itself. Fix or remove the address before it's mailed again.
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Marketing ops
- Pull a send list for a campaign tool outside Salesforce without losing the opt-outs.
- Sales teams
- Clean a territory's contacts before a sequence: no opted-out or bounced addresses.
- Admins
- Find contacts with a bounce reason to fix or archive.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- Report column labels depend on your org and language; Email Opt Out and Email Bounced Reason are found by their standard English labels and API names, so check the notes above the result.
- Bounce fields are only filled in when bounce management is on, and only for mail sent from Salesforce; bounces in a separate sending tool aren't there.
- It can't tell which addresses have a working inbox today; that needs a live mailbox check.
Common questions
- Which Salesforce columns does it read?
- Email, Email Opt Out (or HasOptedOutOfEmail in a Data Loader file), Email Bounced Reason, Email Bounced Date or IsEmailBounced, and Other Email if you tick the option. The notes above the result say which were found.
- Does it work with a Leads report?
- Yes. Leads have the same Email, Email Opt Out and bounce fields. Export Contacts and Leads separately and paste both; repeats merge.
- Is my contact list uploaded?
- No. The file is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.
Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.
- Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
- A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
