Freshsales contacts to email list: unsubscribed and bounced set aside
In short: Reads a Freshsales contacts export, sets aside unsubscribed contacts (never reading a blank as consent) and those with an Email status of bounced or invalid, splits the Emails cell into one row per address, merges repeats and flags role addresses and typos. Limit: Freshsales doesn't publish its export column names, and the file has only the fields you tick; Emails, Email status and Unsubscribed are found by name from an inferred list, so check the notes above the result.
Export your contacts from Freshsales with Emails, Email status and Unsubscribed ticked, and upload the file here. Unsubscribed contacts are always set aside, bounced and invalid email statuses are set aside too, a cell holding several addresses becomes one row each, and repeats are merged. Then check the send list live before the next sequence.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the Freshsales contacts before the next send?
- Download the send list here.
- Upload it at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- Mark the invalid ones in Freshsales before the sequence starts, so they're not mailed from your domain.
How do I turn a Freshsales export into a clean email list?
- In Freshsales, open Contacts and pick a view or filter (for example Email status is not Bounced).
- Choose Export, tick the fields including Emails, Email status, Unsubscribed and Sales account, and download the file from the email link.
- Upload the CSV here, or paste it. The email, status and opt-out columns are found by name.
- Download the send list and the set-aside file; each set-aside row says why.
Example
- You enter
- A Freshsales export with 6 contacts:
Email statusValid, Bounced and Invalid,Unsubscribedtrue on one contact, oneEmailscell holding two addresses, and one contact with no email. - You get
- 3 addresses to send (the two-address cell split into 2 rows), the bounced, the invalid and the unsubscribed contact set aside, and 1 contact counted as having no email.
- Limits
- Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.
What does Freshsales' Email status tell you?
Freshsales sets an email status of bounced or invalid when mail it sent didn't arrive, and its own help shows filtering by Email status to find them. That only covers addresses you've already mailed from Freshsales. Imported leads and contacts nobody has emailed in a while have no status yet, so they can be dead without the CRM knowing.
A live mailbox check covers those before they bounce.
How are unsubscribes read?
An Unsubscribed column of true, or a subscription status of unsubscribed, sets the contact aside. A blank or false is not read as permission to email; it only means no unsubscribe was recorded.
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Sales teams
- Build a sequence list from Freshsales contacts with unsubscribes and bounces removed.
- Marketing
- Move contacts to an email platform without carrying old bounces and opt-outs with them.
- RevOps
- Find the contacts to fix or mark before a CRM migration.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- Freshsales doesn't publish its export column names, and the file has only the fields you tick; Emails, Email status and Unsubscribed are found by name from an inferred list, so check the notes above the result.
- An unsubscribe from only some subscription types may not appear in the export; the tool reads only what's in the file.
- It can't tell which addresses have a working inbox today; that needs a live mailbox check.
Common questions
- Can I upload the zip Freshsales emails me?
- Unzip it first and upload the CSV inside.
- What if a contact has more than one email?
- When the Emails cell holds several addresses, each becomes its own row. Separate other-email columns are read when you tick the option.
- Is my contact list uploaded?
- No. The file is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.
Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.
- Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
- A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
