Bulk iCloud email checker: check a list of iCloud addresses at once

In short: Checks many icloud.com, me.com and mac.com addresses at once: typo domains, duplicates, Sign in with Apple relay addresses and the same name at two Apple domains flagged, and 10 mailboxes checked live. Limit: Valid means the iCloud mailbox exists today, not that anyone reads it.

A bulk iCloud email checker tests many icloud.com, me.com and mac.com addresses at once. Paste the list here: typo domains like iclod.com, duplicates, Sign in with Apple relay addresses and the same name at two Apple domains are flagged in your browser, and the first 10 are checked live with Apple's mail servers, which answer per mailbox.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

Runs in your browser. Only the domains are sent, to look up their mail servers; addresses stay on your device.

How do I check if multiple iCloud addresses exist?

  1. Paste the addresses, one per line, or a CSV column of them. Addresses at other providers are checked as normal addresses and marked.
  2. Press Check the iCloud addresses.
  3. Read the flagged rows: a typo domain, a duplicate, a Sign in with Apple relay address, or the same name at @me.com and @icloud.com.
  4. Download the clean list. Flagged notes stay on it; only rows that fail a check come off.
  5. The first 10 go to Apple's mail servers for a live answer. Sign in with Google to check the rest with 100 free email checks.

Example

You enter
7 addresses: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], a privaterelay.appleid.com address, a mac.com, another icloud.com and a company address.
You get
[email protected] is flagged as a likely typo of icloud.com; [email protected] is marked as the same name as row 1 at another Apple domain; the relay address is marked as forwarding only mail from the app it was made for. The live check asks Apple about the iCloud rows first.
Limits
The browser pass covers the first 5,000 rows; only domains leave your device. 10 live checks a day without an account, then the free checks with a Google sign-in.

Can you check if iCloud addresses exist in bulk?

Yes. Apple's mail servers answer the mailbox question for icloud.com, me.com and mac.com, so a checker can ask about each address and disconnect before anything is sent. A risky result at iCloud usually means the check was cut short, by a temporary reply or today's free-tool capacity, so check those rows again later before you drop them.

Before the mailbox check, the list is reduced to what's worth checking: syntax, typo domains such as iclod.com or icoud.com, duplicates and dead domains. For one address with full notes, use the iCloud email checker.

Are me.com and icloud.com the same account?

Often. Apple says accounts created before 19 September 2012, or moved from MobileMe before 1 August 2012, have both @me.com and @icloud.com addresses, and some older ones have @mac.com too (Apple Support). Accounts made since then have only @icloud.com.

So [email protected] and [email protected] on one list may be one person. The tool marks the later row and keeps both, because Apple doesn't publish a rule that settles it for every account.

What are privaterelay.appleid.com addresses?

They come from Sign in with Apple. Apple says the Hide My Email address it creates uses @private.icloud.com or @privaterelay.appleid.com, and only email sent from the app or website's designated addresses is forwarded to the person (Apple Support). Mail from anyone else doesn't arrive.

The tool marks these rows so you know they only work for the app the person signed in to. iCloud+ subscribers can also make random-looking Hide My Email addresses at icloud.com (Apple Support); those look like any other iCloud address and are real ways to reach the person.

What does each check catch on an iCloud list?

Check an iPhone-heavy customer list for typo domains and closed mailboxes before a launch email.
List owners
Find the same person listed at @me.com and @icloud.com before counting your audience.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • Valid means the iCloud mailbox exists today, not that anyone reads it.
  • The same name at @me.com and @icloud.com is flagged as possibly one person, not merged.
  • Relay addresses forward only mail from the app they were made for; a mailbox check can't show which app that is.
  • The live check covers 10 addresses without an account; risky results there usually mean the check was cut short, so try again later.

Common questions

Is there a free bulk iCloud email checker?
Yes. This page checks a whole iCloud list for syntax, typo domains, duplicates, relay addresses and dead domains for free, checks 10 mailboxes live with Apple's servers, and gives 100 free email checks with a Google sign-in.
Can you check if an iCloud address exists without emailing it?
Yes. Apple's mail servers answer whether a mailbox exists before any message is sent, so a checker can ask and disconnect.
Will the iCloud users know I checked their address?
No. Nothing is delivered, so nothing appears in their inbox.
Should I remove privaterelay.appleid.com addresses?
Not if your app made them: they forward mail from that app's registered senders to the person. Sent from any other tool or domain, the mail won't arrive, so keep them for the app that created them.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.

Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.

  • Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
  • A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection
