PayPal customers to email list: one row per payer from your activity download
In short: Reads PayPal's Activity download CSV, keeps the From Email Address of incoming payments, skips your own address, payments you sent, transfers, fees, conversions and holds, merges repeat buyers with payments and totals, and marks refunds. Limit: PayPal doesn't always share the buyer's email (for example some guest or marketplace payments); those rows are counted as having no address.
PayPal has no customer export, but its Activity download lists every payment with the payer's email. Download it as a comma-delimited CSV (Activity > Statements, or Reports > Activity download) and upload it here. Incoming payments become one row per payer, with payment count, total paid and items; your own address, transfers, fees and refunds are left out.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the PayPal payers before mailing them?
- Download the payer list here.
- Upload it at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- Import the valid file into your email platform.
How do I export customer emails from PayPal?
- In PayPal, open Activity > Statements (or Reports > Activity download), pick a date range of up to 12 months and choose Comma Delimited, All Activity.
- Upload the CSV here, or paste it. Download several ranges and paste them together to cover more than a year.
- Choose: set aside payers with only pending or reversed payments (on to start), and optionally anyone you refunded.
- Download the payer list and the set-aside file with the reason per address.
Example
- You enter
- A PayPal Activity download with 8 rows: 5 incoming payments from 4 payers (one Pending), a refund to one of them, a bank withdrawal and a payment you sent to a supplier.
- You get
- 3 payers in the list: Ana with 2 payments totalling
64.00USD, Leo with120.00USD marked refunded, and Kim with25.00EUR. Mia's only payment is Pending, so she is set aside asNo completed payment in this file. 3 rows skipped (the refund, the withdrawal and your outgoing payment) and your own address left out. - Limits
- Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.
Why doesn't PayPal have a customer export?
PayPal is a payment account, not a store, so its records are transactions. The Customers view some accounts have shows a few at a time with no download, which is why sellers in PayPal's community forum point each other to the Activity download instead. Its From Email Address column holds the payer's PayPal login on incoming payments.
The download is a ledger: payments in and out, refunds, fees, bank withdrawals, currency conversions and holds all sit in the same file. This tool keeps only incoming payments of a payment, donation, subscription or invoice type, and leaves out the addresses on your side (the To address on money in and the From address on money out).
Can I email PayPal buyers?
Paying you isn't the same as signing up for marketing. In the US, CAN-SPAM allows commercial email to people who haven't opted in, as long as it identifies you, has your postal address and an opt-out. In the UK and EU, the soft opt-in only covers marketing of similar products to customers who were given a chance to refuse when they bought. Check the rules where your buyers are before a promotional send; order updates and receipts aren't marketing.
PayPal's user agreement also has terms on how you may use information you receive about other PayPal customers. Read them for your account type before you build a marketing list from it.

What can’t this tool tell you?
- PayPal doesn't always share the buyer's email (for example some guest or marketplace payments); those rows are counted as having no address.
- The address is the payer's PayPal login, which may not be the inbox they read.
- Columns are found by name; if PayPal renames them, check the notes above the result.
- It can't tell which addresses still have a working inbox.
Common questions
- Which PayPal report has the customer emails?
- The Activity download (Activity > Statements, or Reports > Activity download on business accounts), as Comma Delimited. Its From Email Address column holds the payer on incoming payments. Monthly PDF statements don't have it.
- How far back can I go?
- PayPal's developer docs say activity reports cover up to 7 years, with at most 12 months per report and 50,000 rows per CSV. Download one range at a time and paste the files together here.
- Are refunds and chargebacks removed?
- Refund rows mark the payer as refunded (a column in the output), and you can tick to set them aside. Reversals, holds and chargebacks are never counted as payments.
- Is my PayPal history uploaded?
- No. It is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.
Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.
- Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
- A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection

Plans from $9 a month, cancel anytime, no contract. Sign in with Google and your first 100 email checks are free, no card. The free tools stay free either way.
