Optimum email checker: optonline.net and optimum.net

In short: Asks Optimum's own mail server whether an optonline.net or optimum.net mailbox exists, without sending anything, after syntax, domain, disposable and role checks. Limit: A valid result shows the server accepted the mailbox today, not that anyone reads it.

To check if an Optimum address exists, enter it here. The checker asks Optimum's mail server about the optonline.net or optimum.net mailbox at RCPT TO, then disconnects before any message is sent. It rejected made-up optonline.net addresses with 550 … User unknown on 13 October and 8 November 2026, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid and an accepted one valid.

Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. Check your list free nowSee pricing

How do I check a whole list of Optimum addresses?

  1. Export the list as a CSV or copy the email column; Optimum rows and every other domain can go in together.
  2. Upload or paste it at /verify. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
  3. For every list after that, Pro includes unlimited email verification. Fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off.

How do I check an Optimum email address?

  1. Type or paste one address, such as [email protected].
  2. Press Check. The tool checks the syntax and domain, asks Optimum's server about a random address that can't exist, then about yours, and disconnects before anything is sent.
  3. Read the verdict: valid means the server accepted the mailbox and rejected the made-up one, invalid means it said the user is unknown, risky means the check didn't get a clear answer.
  4. If it comes back risky, check again later: with Optimum that is usually a cut-short check, not a bad address.

Example

You enter
One address: [email protected].
You get
Valid when Optimum's server accepts the mailbox after rejecting a random address; invalid ("Mailbox not found") when it answers 550 … User unknown; risky only when the check gets no clear answer.
Limits
Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.

Can you check if an optonline.net address exists?

Yes. On 8 November 2026 optonline.net and optimum.net both published one MX host, mx.altice.prod.cloud.openwave.ai, an Openwave-hosted server rather than a host under optonline.net. On 13 October 2026 it answered a made-up optonline.net address at RCPT TO with 550 RCPT TO:<…@optonline.net> User unknown, and a fresh made-up address got the same rejection through this checker on 8 November.

A rejection comes back invalid ("Mailbox not found") and an acceptance valid, after a random address is tested first so a yes means something. The Optimum provider page has the full DNS snapshot.

Why do Optimum addresses disappear?

Optimum's email FAQ says an inbox and all its content are deleted after 90 days of email account inactivity, and every address on an account is deleted within 90 days of the Internet service being disconnected. It also says Optimum stopped letting customers create new Optimum email accounts on 4 May 2021.

So the pool of optonline.net addresses only shrinks, and an address that worked last season can be gone now. Re-check optonline.net addresses older than about three months before you send.

Can I check a whole list of US internet provider addresses?

Yes. Sign in and use the bulk verifier for a CSV or a pasted list; Optimum rows get the same mailbox check as here, alongside Spectrum, Comcast, Cox and everything else.

For other US internet provider domains, see the Spectrum email checker and the Cox email checker. The email checker handles any other domain.

What can this checker confirm at Optimum?

Each row is something the check runs on an Optimum address, and the result you can get from it.

What can’t this tool tell you?

  • A valid result shows the server accepted the mailbox today, not that anyone reads it.
  • A temporary reply or a refused connection comes back risky, not invalid.
  • Optimum doesn't publish how its servers answer mailbox checks; the handling here is from our own checks, which can change.
  • One address at a time, five a minute.

Common questions

How do I check if an optonline.net email address is valid?
Enter it here. The checker confirms the syntax and mail server, then asks Optimum's server about the mailbox without sending. It rejects addresses that don't exist, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid.
Does Optimum delete inactive email accounts?
Optimum's FAQ says an inbox and all its content are deleted after 90 days of email account inactivity, and every address on an account within 90 days of an Internet disconnection.
Can I still create an optonline.net email address?
No. Optimum's FAQ says that since 4 May 2021 it no longer lets new or existing Internet customers create new Optimum email accounts.
Why is the optonline.net mail server on openwave.ai?
Optimum's mail is received by an Openwave-hosted server, mx.altice.prod.cloud.openwave.ai, which optonline.net and optimum.net both published on 8 November 2026. That host answered our mailbox check directly.
Is this checker free?
