Spectrum email checker: charter.net, rr.com and twc.com
In short: Asks Spectrum's mail servers whether a charter.net, spectrum.net, rr.com, twc.com or roadrunner.com mailbox exists, without sending anything, after syntax, domain, disposable and role checks. Limit: Only charter.net has been measured by us; rr.com, twc.com and roadrunner.com get whatever their server answers.
This Spectrum email checker tests a charter.net, spectrum.net, rr.com, twc.com or roadrunner.com address for broken syntax, typo domains, a missing mail server and disposable or role use, then asks the domain's mail server about the mailbox and disconnects before sending. Spectrum's charter.net server rejected made-up addresses in October and on 8 November 2026, so a missing charter.net mailbox comes back invalid.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. Check your list free nowSee pricing
Tuned for charter.net, spectrum.net, rr.com, twc.com, roadrunner.com. Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

How do I check a whole list of Spectrum addresses?
- Export the list as a CSV or copy the email column; Spectrum rows and every other domain can go in together.
- Upload or paste it at /verify. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- For every list after that, Pro includes unlimited email verification. Fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off.
How do I check a Spectrum email address?
- Type or paste one address, such as
[email protected],[email protected]or[email protected]. - Press Check. Syntax, domain, mail server, disposable and role checks run, then the domain's mail server is asked about a random address that can't exist, and about yours, and the tool disconnects before anything is sent.
- Read the verdict: valid means the server accepted the mailbox and rejected the made-up one, invalid means it rejected the mailbox, risky means it gave no clear answer.
- If it comes back risky, check again later; Roadrunner and Time Warner domains run on different servers from charter.net.
Example
- You enter
- One address:
[email protected]. - You get
- Valid when the charter.net server accepts the mailbox after rejecting a random address; invalid ("Mailbox not found") when it answers
550 5.1.1 … recipient rejected; risky when the server gives no clear answer. - Limits
- Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.
Can you check if a Spectrum email address exists?
For charter.net, yes. On 8 November 2026 charter.net and spectrum.net published mx0.charter.net as their MX. On 13 October 2026 it answered a made-up charter.net address at RCPT TO with 550 5.1.1 <…@charter.net> recipient rejected, and a fresh made-up address was rejected again through this checker on 8 November. A missing charter.net mailbox comes back invalid ("Mailbox not found").
The older Time Warner Cable domains use other servers: on 8 November twc.com, roadrunner.com and regional addresses such as nc.rr.com published pkvw-mx.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net, and rr.com itself published hosts under email.rr.com. We haven't published how those answer, so their result is simply whatever their server says, and anything unclear stays risky. The Spectrum provider page has the live DNS.
Which domains are Spectrum email addresses?
Spectrum's server settings page groups charter.net with bresnan.net and spectrum.net, and also covers twc.com, brighthouse.com and the rr.com domains, the Roadrunner addresses Time Warner Cable customers had. This checker is tuned for charter.net, spectrum.net, rr.com (including regional ones like socal.rr.com), twc.com and roadrunner.com.
Spectrum locks an email account after six months of inactivity, and it receives no new mail until the owner unlocks it on Spectrum.net. A deleted address can be recreated within 60 days with its mailbox restored, so an address that bounced once can come back.
What should I do with Spectrum addresses on an old list?
Check them before a send: Spectrum's six-month lock means quiet contacts stop receiving, and a lot of Roadrunner addresses on older US lists belong to people who have since changed provider. Sign in and use the bulk verifier for a CSV or a pasted list.
For the other big US internet provider domains, the Comcast email checker and AT&T email checker say what their servers allow; Comcast refuses checks and AT&T accepts every address, so both come back risky.
What can this checker confirm at Spectrum?
Each row is something the check runs on a Spectrum address, and the result you can get from it.
| Check | Can we confirm it? | Result when it fails |
|---|---|---|
| Syntax (the address is written correctly) | Yes | Invalid |
| Domain and mail server (MX) | Yes | Invalid, with a typo suggestion where one fits |
| Disposable or role address | Yes | Invalid (disposable) or risky (role) |
| The mailbox exists at charter.net | Yes: the server answers at RCPT TO (550 5.1.1 recipient rejected) | Invalid, "Mailbox not found" |
| The mailbox exists at rr.com or twc.com | Whatever that server answers; not yet measured by us | Invalid on a clear rejection, risky otherwise |
| The account isn't locked for inactivity | No checker can | Use recent opens or replies |
Our checking server offered a made-up address and disconnected without sending, on 12 or 13 October 2026 and again through this checker on 8 November 2026.

What can’t this tool tell you?
- Only charter.net has been measured by us; rr.com, twc.com and roadrunner.com get whatever their server answers.
- A valid result shows the server accepted the mailbox today, not that the account isn't locked for inactivity.
- Spectrum doesn't publish how its servers answer mailbox checks; the handling here is from our own checks, which can change.
- One address at a time, five a minute.
Common questions
- How do I check if a charter.net email address is valid?
- Enter it here. The checker confirms the syntax and mail server, then asks Spectrum's charter.net server about the mailbox without sending. It rejects addresses that don't exist, so a missing mailbox comes back invalid.
- Is rr.com still a working email domain?
- Yes. Spectrum's support pages still cover rr.com (Roadrunner) addresses, and on 8 November 2026 rr.com and the regional rr.com domains published working mail servers.
- Does Spectrum close inactive email accounts?
- Spectrum's email guide says accounts are locked after six months of inactivity and must be unlocked on Spectrum.net to receive new email.
- Are twc.com addresses Spectrum email?
- Yes. Spectrum's server settings page covers twc.com along with charter.net, spectrum.net, brighthouse.com and the rr.com domains.
- Is this checker free?
- Yes, five checks a minute with no account. For a whole list, sign in with Google for 100 free email checks, no card, or use a monthly plan.
