Mail.ru email checker: what can and can't be confirmed
In short: Checks mail.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru, bk.ru and internet.ru addresses for syntax, typo domains, mail servers and disposable or role use, and says plainly that Mail.ru's server won't confirm a single mailbox. Limit: It does not confirm that a Mail.ru mailbox exists. Well-formed Mail.ru addresses come back risky.
This Mail.ru email checker tests a mail.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru or bk.ru address for broken syntax, typo domains, a missing mail server and disposable or role use, without sending anything. It can't confirm the mailbox: Mail.ru's server accepted made-up addresses in our checks on 23 October and 4 November 2026, so a well-formed address comes back unconfirmed (risky), never valid.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing
Tuned for mail.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru, bk.ru, internet.ru. Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

How do I check a Mail.ru email address?
- Type or paste one address, such as
name@mail.ru,name@inbox.ruorname@bk.ru. - Press Check. Syntax, domain, mail server, disposable and role checks run, then the tool asks Mail.ru's server about a random address that can't exist, and about yours, and disconnects before anything is sent.
- Read the verdict. Invalid means the address can't receive mail. Risky with "Accepts all addresses" means Mail.ru said yes to the made-up address too, so its yes to yours proves nothing.
- Decide risky Mail.ru addresses by where they came from and how recently they engaged; send an old segment a small first batch.
Example
- You enter
- One address:
name@mail.ru. - You get
- Risky, with the reason "Accepts all addresses": syntax, domain, disposable and role checks passed, and Mail.ru's server (mxs.mail.ru) accepted a random address that cannot exist as well as this one, so the acceptance proves nothing. Broken syntax, a dead domain or a disposable domain comes back invalid.
- Limits
- Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.
Can you check if a Mail.ru email address exists?
Not with certainty, and this checker doesn't pretend to. mail.ru publishes one MX host, mxs.mail.ru, and in our verification study on 23 October 2026 that server accepted a made-up @mail.ru address in both rounds. A fresh made-up address was accepted again on 4 November 2026. Real and fake addresses get the same yes, so SimpleVerifier returns them as risky with the reason "Accepts all addresses".
What the checker still catches is what breaks most rows: a mistyped address, a typo domain with no mail server, a throwaway domain, or a shared role inbox. The Mail.ru provider page has the live DNS and the provider's own rules.
Are inbox.ru, list.ru and bk.ru the same as mail.ru?
They are Mail.ru mailboxes on other domain names, and they share its mail server. On 4 November 2026 mail.ru, inbox.ru, list.ru, bk.ru and internet.ru all published the same single MX record, mxs.mail.ru, so a check behaves the same at each. Check any domain with the email provider lookup to see who receives its mail.
One Mail.ru mailbox can also hide behind several names: its help page on anonymous addresses allows up to 10 alias addresses per mailbox, at most two created a day. Several rows on a list can reach the same person.
Why do old Mail.ru addresses need extra care?
VK's Mail.ru user agreement (section 5.2.3) lets it block or delete a mailbox after six consecutive months with no logins or activity, so an address that worked a year ago may be gone. Section 5.4 says a closed mailbox name can't be registered again, so a dead address won't pass to a stranger.
Because no checking server can confirm these mailboxes, recent engagement is the signal to trust. To check a whole list, sign in and use the bulk verifier: Mail.ru rows land in risky with the reason shown, separate from rows that were confirmed, such as the Yandex addresses, which Yandex does answer for.
What can this checker confirm at Mail.ru?
Each row is something the check runs on a Mail.ru address, and the result you can get from it.
| Check | Can we confirm it? | Result when it fails |
|---|---|---|
| Syntax (the address is written correctly) | Yes | Invalid |
| Domain and mail server (MX) | Yes | Invalid, with a typo suggestion where one fits |
| Disposable or role address | Yes | Invalid (disposable) or risky (role) |
| The mailbox exists | No: Mail.ru's server accepts made-up addresses | Risky, "Accepts all addresses", never valid |
| Someone still reads the inbox | No checker can | Use recent opens, replies or a small first send |

- Support and signup teams
- Catch a mistyped inbox.ru or bk.ru address on a form before you reply to it.
- Anyone comparing verifiers
- See why one tool calls a Mail.ru address valid and another risky: a server that accepts every address can't confirm any one of them.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- It does not confirm that a Mail.ru mailbox exists. Well-formed Mail.ru addresses come back risky.
- It can't tell whether a mailbox has been blocked for six months of inactivity.
- Mail.ru doesn't publish how its server answers mailbox checks; the handling here is from our own measured checks, which can change.
- One address at a time, five a minute.
Common questions
- How do I check if a Mail.ru email address exists?
- A mailbox check can't settle it. Mail.ru's server accepted made-up addresses in our checks in October and November 2026, so a real and a fake address get the same answer. This checker confirms syntax, domain, mail server and disposable use, and returns a well-formed Mail.ru address as risky, never valid.
- Can the checker say a Mail.ru address is invalid?
- Yes, for what it can check: broken syntax, a typo domain with no mail server, or a disposable domain. It won't call a well-formed mail.ru address invalid just because Mail.ru didn't confirm it.
- Are bk.ru, list.ru and inbox.ru Mail.ru addresses?
- Yes. On 4 November 2026 bk.ru, list.ru, inbox.ru and internet.ru all published mxs.mail.ru as their only MX record, the same server as mail.ru, so the check behaves the same for all of them.
- Does Mail.ru delete inactive mailboxes?
- It can. The Mail.ru user agreement lets VK block or delete a mailbox after six consecutive months with no logins or activity, and a closed mailbox name can't be registered again.
- Is the Mail.ru checker free?
- Yes, five checks a minute with no account. For a whole list, sign in with Google for 100 free email checks, no card, or use a paid plan.
