Wix contacts to email list: subscribers kept, unsubscribes set aside
In short: Reads the Regular CSV from Wix Contacts > Import / Export > Export, sorts each contact by its email subscriber status (subscribed, never subscribed, unsubscribed), sets aside unsubscribes, merges repeats and keeps name, phone, company and labels. Limit: Column names aren't documented by Wix and can change; columns are found by name, so check the notes above the result.
To get an email list out of Wix, open Contacts in your dashboard, choose Import / Export > Export, pick All Contacts or a label and save it as a Regular CSV file. Upload it here: each contact is sorted by its email subscriber status, unsubscribes are set aside, repeats merge, and you download a list ready for another email tool.
Price: this tool is free. Checking a whole email list is from $9/mo, and the first 100 checks are free with Google, no card. See pricing

How do I check the Wix list before the first campaign?
- Download the email list here.
- Upload it at /verify. Every address gets a live mailbox check, and valid, risky and invalid download as separate files. The first 100 email checks are free with a Google sign-in, no card.
- Import the valid file into your email platform, or back into Wix.
How do I turn a Wix contacts export into an email list?
- In your Wix dashboard, open Contacts, click Import / Export and choose Export. Pick All Contacts or one label, and choose Regular CSV file (the Google CSV format drops the subscription status).
- Upload the CSV here, or paste it.
- Choose: set aside unsubscribed contacts (on to start), or keep only contacts marked subscribed.
- Download the email list and the set-aside file with the reason per address.
Example
- You enter
- A Wix Regular CSV with 7 contacts: Ana twice (Subscribed), 2 Never subscribed, 1 more Subscribed, 1 Unsubscribed and 1 with no email.
- You get
- 4 in the email list (Ana merged with labels
Customers, VIP, Members, Kim, and the 2 never-subscribed as Unknown), 1 set aside as unsubscribed, 1 counted as having no address. Ticking subscribed-only moves the 2 Unknown to the set-aside file. - Limits
- Runs in your browser with no row cap; an uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.
What does email subscriber status mean in Wix?
Wix keeps one contact list for everyone who touched the site: form senders, bookings, store customers, members and imports. Each contact has an email subscription status. Subscribed contacts agreed to marketing; unsubscribed ones opted out; never subscribed means they reached you some other way, for example by sending a contact form, and didn't sign up.
Unsubscribed contacts are set aside by default. Tick "keep only subscribed" to set aside never-subscribed contacts too, which is the safer choice for a newsletter. A status that reads bounced or invalid is always set aside. The note above the result names the column the status was read from.
Why export with Regular CSV, not Google CSV?
Wix's help says the Google CSV format doesn't carry email subscription status, SMS status, language or created date as normal fields, so the consent information is lost. The Regular CSV keeps it. Wix also limits exports to the site owner.
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Small businesses moving off Wix email
- Take subscribers to Mailchimp, Kit or MailerLite without importing people who unsubscribed.
- Studios and salons on Wix Bookings
- Build a list of clients who booked, kept apart from people who only sent a form.
- Wix store owners
- Pull store customers out of the shared contact list with their labels.
- Web designers
- Clean a client's Wix contacts before their first campaign in a new tool.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- Column names aren't documented by Wix and can change; columns are found by name, so check the notes above the result.
- "Never subscribed" is not consent; check the rules where your contacts are before a marketing send.
- Wix exports up to 50,000 contacts at a time, according to third-party guides; export by label for bigger lists.
- It can't tell which addresses still have a working inbox.
Common questions
- Can I export only subscribers from Wix?
- You can export by label, so if your subscribers have their own label, export that. Or export all contacts and let this tool sort by email subscriber status.
- What happens to contacts with two email addresses?
- The primary email column is read. A cell holding several addresses gives one row per address, with the same name and status.
- Are labels kept?
- Yes. Labels from every copy of a repeated contact are combined into one labels column, so you can rebuild segments in the next tool.
- Is my contact list uploaded?
- No. It is read in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to check the addresses afterwards.

A tidy list can still be full of dead addresses.
Extracting, deduplicating and syntax checks all work on the text of an address. None of them can tell whether the mailbox exists. Only the server that hosts it can answer that, through an SMTP check, and that is what the paid product does.
- Upload the cleaned file as it is: CSVs up to 100,000 rows
- A real SMTP mailbox check on every row, with catch-all detection

Plans from $9 a month, cancel anytime, no contract. Sign in with Google and your first 100 email checks are free, no card. The free tools stay free either way.
