What each type means for the caller
- Toll-free: 0800–0802, 0805 or 0807–0809
- Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 8 or 9 digits after +382.
- Premium rate: 0941, 0945, 0946, 0948, 0951, 0957 or 0958
- Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 8 digits after +382.
- Universal access (UAN): 0771–0779
- One national number for a business with several sites, routed to the nearest or chosen office. 8 digits after +382.
- VoIP: 0781–0784 or 0789
- Numbers issued for internet telephony services rather than a fixed line or a mobile network. 8 digits after +382.
Writing and dialling a Montenegro toll-free number
Inside Montenegro, dial the number with its leading 0. From abroad or in E.164, drop the 0 and put +382 in front: 080 080 002 becomes +38280080002. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Montenegro, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Montenegro phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

Common questions
- What is the toll-free prefix in Montenegro?
- Montenegro toll-free numbers start with 0800–0802, 0805 or 0807–0809 at home, written +382 800–802, 805 or 807–809 internationally. Every valid toll-free number starts that way, though not every number with those digits is in service.
- How many digits is a Montenegro toll-free number?
- 8 or 9 digits after the country code +382, plus the trunk prefix 0 when dialled inside Montenegro.
- Can I call a Montenegro toll-free number from abroad?
- Sometimes. Dial +382 and the number without the leading 0. Many freephone numbers only take calls from inside Montenegro, and where they do connect from abroad the call is usually charged.
- How do I spot a premium-rate number in Montenegro?
- By its first digits: 0941, 0945, 0946, 0948, 0951, 0957 or 0958. The prefix tells you the range is charged; the actual price is set per service.

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.
- 5,000 live carrier lookups a month: real line type, including US numbers
- Carrier name for every number looked up
- Upload a CSV up to 100,000 rows; emails in the same file get a mailbox check
