Email verification for cold email agencies
Cold email agencies send from domains they set up and are judged on one number: replies, which depend on landing in the inbox. A bounced address costs sender reputation on the client's domain, so verify every list before it enters a sequence. The Agency plan ($249 a month) adds client workspaces, 15 seats, a priority lane and API calls so a whole team can run client lists on one account.

The use case
You scrape or buy a lead list for a client, enrich it, and load it into a sequencer. Any address that does not exist hard-bounces, and a run of hard bounces on a new sending domain is the fastest way to burn it. Verification before upload removes addresses that cannot receive mail and flags the ones that cannot be confirmed, so you decide how much risk each campaign takes.
The workflow
- 1
Create a workspace per client
On Agency, add the client as a workspace. Every list you upload for them is filed under it, and History and exports filter by client.
- 2
Upload the list and verify
Drop in the CSV from your scraper or enrichment tool. Each row gets a result and a reason: valid, risky or invalid. Anything the mailbox check cannot confirm is risky, never valid.
- 3
Sync with your sequencer
Use the Instantly or Smartlead integration to check a campaign's leads, or export the valid file and import it yourself.
- 4
Hold the risky file out of the first send
Send the valid addresses first. Test the risky file in a small batch on a warmed inbox, or drop it for a new domain.
- 5
Automate with the API
Call the API from your own scripts or workflows. 300,000 calls a month are included on Agency.
Which plan fits
Business ($99) if one team runs a few lists and needs shared access: 1,000,000 emails a month and 5 seats. Agency ($249) once you serve several clients and want their lists kept apart: 3,000,000 emails a month, 15 seats and client workspaces.
Full speed is a monthly volume, not a promise of hours. Mailbox checks are paced and the day's check capacity is shared between customers, so a very large list takes days. It queues rather than failing, and the job card shows an estimated finish time. Plan client deadlines around that.
Verification checks whether an address can receive mail. It does not check consent, and it cannot make a purchased list lawful to email. Follow the sending rules that apply to each client and region.

Competitor figures are the cheapest published route that covers the volume in one month: a subscription tier whose allowance covers it, or the pay-as-you-go pack bought again each month. Common questions
- Will verifying a list guarantee inbox placement?
- No. Verification removes addresses that cannot receive mail, which protects bounce rate. Placement also depends on the sending domain's authentication, warm-up, content and the recipients.
- How do seats and client workspaces work?
- A seat is one person, the owner included: Business has 5 seats and Agency has 15. Teammates share the account's lists, monthly volume and API keys. Client workspaces are on Agency: you pick a client when you upload a list, then filter History and exports by client. Deleting a workspace keeps its lists; they just lose the label.
- What does the priority lane do, and how fast is it?
- Big lists on Business and Agency go ahead of other big lists in the shared queue, within the plan's monthly full-speed volume. Small lists under 2,000 rows always run first on every plan. Full speed is a monthly volume, not a promise of hours. Mailbox checks are paced and the day's check capacity is shared between customers, so a very large list takes days. It queues rather than failing, and the job card shows an estimated finish time. Plan client deadlines around that.
- Can we call it from our own tooling?
- Yes. Business includes 100,000 API calls a month and Agency 300,000, then $1.00 per 1,000 on monthly billing. Docs are at /docs/api.
