in.gr MX records
in.gr publishes a single MX host, in-gr.mail.protection.outlook.com. With no backup host, a sender that can't reach it queues the message and retries until the server answers or the queue gives up.
11 other domains we checked on the same day also hand their mail to Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) servers, with different records from in.gr: airtelmail.in, ciudad.com.ar, comhem.se, entelchile.net, ono.com, pldtdsl.net, plus.net, ptcl.net.pk and 3 more.
in.gr SPF record
in.gr publishes 2 SPF records: v=spf1 +mx +ip4:194.63.247.35 +ip4:194.63.247.36 -all and v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com ip4:194.63.247.35 ip4:194.63.247.36 ip4:194.63.247.40 ip4:194.63.247.41 ip4:194.63.247.42 -all. RFC 7208 §4.5 says a receiver that finds more than one must return a permanent error, so SPF checks for @in.gr mail fail outright at strict receivers.
In plain terms, lists 2 IP ranges directly. The top level uses 1 DNS-querying term; SPF allows 10 in total including nested includes (RFC 7208 §4.6.4).
It ends in a hard fail (-all): receivers may reject mail from any server the record does not list.
in.gr DMARC policy
_dmarc.in.gr returned no DMARC record on 5 November 2026. Receivers therefore get no instruction about mail that fails SPF and DKIM, which makes @in.gr easier to spoof (RFC 7489).
Can you verify @in.gr addresses?
Our checker treats @in.gr like any domain: syntax, MX, disposable and role checks first, then a made-up address to rule out a catch-all, then your address at RCPT TO, disconnecting without sending. We have not published a test of how in-gr.mail.protection.outlook.com answers for @in.gr, so we make no claim here about whether single mailboxes can be confirmed; each result carries its own reason.
Cleaning a list with these addresses
DNS tells you where mail goes, not whether one person's mailbox still exists. For a list, run the whole file through a verifier before you send: invalid rows come out, risky rows (catch-all, unknown, refused) go in their own segment, and valid rows are safe to mail.
What Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) documents for senders
- Microsoft 365 tells each organisation to point its MX record at a host of the form
<domain-key>.mail.protection.outlook.com. Microsoft: external DNS records for Microsoft 365 - Microsoft requires domains sending more than 5,000 messages a day to Outlook.com, Hotmail and Live addresses to pass SPF, DKIM and DMARC (at least p=none, aligned with SPF or DKIM). Microsoft: requirements for high-volume senders
