What each type means for the caller

Toll-free: 0800
Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 10 digits after +58.
Premium rate: 0900 or 0901
Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 10 digits after +58.
Universal access (UAN): 0501
One national number for a business with several sites, routed to the nearest or chosen office. 10 digits after +58.

Writing and dialling a Venezuela toll-free number

Inside Venezuela, dial the number with its leading 0. From abroad or in E.164, drop the 0 and put +58 in front: 0800-1234567 becomes +588001234567. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Venezuela, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.

Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list

In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Venezuela phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

Common questions

What is the toll-free prefix in Venezuela?
Venezuela toll-free numbers start with 0800 at home, written +58 800 internationally. Every valid toll-free number starts that way, though not every number with those digits is in service.
How many digits is a Venezuela toll-free number?
10 digits after the country code +58, plus the trunk prefix 0 when dialled inside Venezuela.
Can I call a Venezuela toll-free number from abroad?
Sometimes. Dial +58 and the number without the leading 0. Many freephone numbers only take calls from inside Venezuela, and where they do connect from abroad the call is usually charged.
How do I spot a premium-rate number in Venezuela?
By its first digits: 0900 or 0901. The prefix tells you the range is charged; the actual price is set per service.

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.

In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.

  • 5,000 live carrier lookups a month: real line type, including US numbers
  • Carrier name for every number looked up
  • Upload a CSV up to 100,000 rows; emails in the same file get a mailbox check
