Toll-free and premium numbers in Nigeria
Toll-free numbers in Nigeria start with 0800 when dialled inside Nigeria (800 after +234 from abroad) and have 10 to 14 digits after the country code. Google's numbering-plan data lists no premium-rate range for Nigeria. Example: 0800 1759 1759, or +23480017591759 in E.164.

Every valid Nigeria number of each type starts with one of these digit groups. The example column shows Google’s example number for the range, written internationally.
| Type | Starts with, after +234 | Dialled inside Nigeria | Digits | Example |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toll-free | 800 | 0800 | 10 to 14 | +234 800 1759 1759 |
| Universal access (UAN) | 700 | 0700 | 10 to 14 | +234 700 123 4567 |
What each type means for the caller
- Toll-free: 0800
- Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 10 to 14 digits after +234.
- Universal access (UAN): 0700
- One national number for a business with several sites, routed to the nearest or chosen office. 10 to 14 digits after +234.
Writing and dialling a Nigeria toll-free number
Inside Nigeria, dial the number with its leading 0. From abroad or in E.164, drop the 0 and put +234 in front: 0800 1759 1759 becomes +23480017591759. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Nigeria, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Nigeria phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

- How many digits is a Nigeria toll-free number?
- 10 to 14 digits after the country code +234, plus the trunk prefix 0 when dialled inside Nigeria.

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.
