What each type means for the caller
- Toll-free: 800
- Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 8 digits after +352.
- Premium rate: 900, 901 or 905
- Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 8 digits after +352.
- Shared cost: 801
- The caller pays part of the cost and the owner pays the rest, so the price sits between a free and a normal call. 8 digits after +352.
- VoIP: 201–206, 208 or 209
- Numbers issued for internet telephony services rather than a fixed line or a mobile network. 4 to 10 digits after +352.
Writing and dialling a Luxembourg toll-free number
Luxembourg has no trunk prefix, so the number is the same at home and abroad; in E.164 put +352 in front: 800 12 345 becomes +35280012345. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Luxembourg, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Luxembourg phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

A prefix says what a range is for. A live lookup says what the line is now.

- 8 digits after the country code +352.
- Can I call a Luxembourg toll-free number from abroad?

- How do I spot a premium-rate number in Luxembourg?

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.
- 5,000 live carrier lookups a month: real line type, including US numbers
- Carrier name for every number looked up
