What each type means for the caller

- Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 10 digits after +44.

- One national number for a business with several sites, routed to the nearest or chosen office. 10 digits after +44.

Writing and dialling a Jersey toll-free number
Inside Jersey, dial the number with its leading 0. From abroad or in E.164, drop the 0 and put +44 in front. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Jersey, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Jersey phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

Common questions
- What is the toll-free prefix in Jersey?

- How many digits is a Jersey toll-free number?
- 10 digits after the country code +44, plus the trunk prefix 0 when dialled inside Jersey.
- Can I call a Jersey toll-free number from abroad?
- Sometimes. Dial +44 and the number without the leading 0. Many freephone numbers only take calls from inside Jersey, and where they do connect from abroad the call is usually charged.
- How do I spot a premium-rate number in Jersey?
- By its first digits: 08444, 08447, 08450, 08458, 08700, 08712, 09006, 09018 or 09071. The prefix tells you the range is charged; the actual price is set per service.

- Official plan: ITU-T E.164 national numbering plan for United Kingdom, which covers Jersey. The regulator’s filing is the authority when the two disagree.
The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.
- 5,000 live carrier lookups a month: real line type, including US numbers
- Carrier name for every number looked up
- Upload a CSV up to 100,000 rows; emails in the same file get a mailbox check
