Toll-free and premium numbers in Botswana
Toll-free numbers in Botswana start with 0800 or 800 after the country code +267 and have 10 digits after the country code. Premium-rate numbers start with 90. Example: 0800 012 345, or +2670800012345 in E.164.

Every valid Botswana number of each type starts with one of these digit groups. The example column shows Google’s example number for the range, written internationally.
| Type | Starts with, after +267 | Digits | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toll-free | 0800, 800 | 10 | +267 0800 012 345 |
| Premium rate | 90 | 7 | +267 90 12345 |
| VoIP | 7910–7913, 7920–7927 | 8 | — |
What each type means for the caller
- Toll-free: 0800 or 800
- Free to the caller, usually only from inside the country; the business that owns the number pays for the call. 10 digits after +267.
- Premium rate: 90
- Charged above a normal call at a rate set by the service, with part of the charge going to the service provider. 7 digits after +267.
- VoIP: 7910–7913 or 7920–7927
- Numbers issued for internet telephony services rather than a fixed line or a mobile network. 8 digits after +267.
Writing and dialling a Botswana toll-free number
Botswana has no trunk prefix, so the number is the same at home and abroad; in E.164 put +267 in front: 0800 012 345 becomes +2670800012345. Many freephone numbers still only accept calls from inside Botswana, and a call from abroad that does connect is usually charged.
Toll-free and premium numbers in a phone list
In a lead or customer list, a toll-free number usually reaches a company line rather than a person, and a premium-rate number costs you money to call. The free toll-free number checker flags them in a pasted list or CSV, and the Botswana phone number format page covers mobiles and landlines.

A prefix says what a range is for. A live lookup says what the line is now.

The numbering plan only knows what a range was issued for.
In the US and Canada mobiles and landlines share the same prefixes, and anywhere a number can be ported or reassigned the range stops telling the whole story. A live carrier lookup asks the network data instead, which is what Pro + Phone ($49.99/mo) adds.
