Zoho email checker: check a Zoho Mail address
This Zoho email checker handles personal zoho.com and zohomail.com addresses and company domains whose MX points at Zoho. It asks Zoho's mail server about a made-up address and then the real one, and disconnects before anything is sent. If the admin has set a catch-all address, Zoho accepts both and the result is risky, not valid.
Tuned for zoho.com and zohomail.com addresses and company domains whose MX points at Zoho. Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.

How do I check if a Zoho email address exists?
- Enter one address: a personal
name@zoho.comor a company address such asjane@acme.example. - Press Check. The domain's MX is looked up; the Mail host line shows Zoho Mail when Zoho receives the domain's mail.
- The checker asks about a made-up address first, then the real one, and disconnects.
- Read the verdict and its reason. "Accepts all addresses" means the domain has a catch-all and no single address can be confirmed.
Example
- You enter
- An illustrative address at a domain hosted at Zoho:
jane@acme.example, orname@zoho.com. - You get
- Mail host "Zoho Mail" and a live verdict. Risky with "Accepts all addresses" when the domain has a catch-all address; valid only when Zoho accepted the address and rejected a made-up one.
- Limits
- Five checks a minute per IP address, one address at a time, no account needed.
How do I know if a domain uses Zoho Mail?
From its MX record. Domains hosted at Zoho point their MX at hosts such as mx.zoho.com, mx2.zoho.com and mx3.zoho.com, with regional versions on zoho.eu, zoho.in and zoho.com.au; zoho.com's own addresses use smtpin.zoho.com (per DNS on 22 October 2026). The checker reads the MX and shows Zoho Mail on the Mail host line; the email provider lookup does the same for a domain on its own.
Personal zoho.com addresses are treated as free webmail by the business email checker, the same as Gmail.
Why might a Zoho address come back risky?
Mostly because of the catch-all setting. Zoho's admin console has a catch-all address option that "captures emails sent to any invalid addresses in the domain". With it on, Zoho accepts mail for any address, so the checker's made-up address is accepted and the result is risky with "Accepts all addresses".
Without a catch-all, the answer depends on what Zoho's server says at the RCPT TO step: an accepted address with the made-up one rejected is valid, a rejected one is invalid, and a temporary or unclear reply is risky. Zoho doesn't publish reference text for these replies, so the checker reports the server's answer and never upgrades an unclear one to valid.
Is this the same as verifying emails in Zoho CRM?
No. This page checks one address at a time against Zoho Mail's server. To clean the contacts in a Zoho CRM or Zoho Campaigns list, verify the export as a file and import it back; verifying emails in Zoho CRM walks through it.
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Agencies and freelancers
- Check a small-business client's Zoho address before sending a proposal, and see whether the domain catches everything.
- B2B prospectors
- When the Mail host line shows Zoho Mail, check a guessed address there before it goes into a sequence.
- Zoho CRM users
- Spot-check a contact that bounced or looks wrong before cleaning the whole export.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- Domains with a catch-all address come back risky; no single address can be confirmed there.
- Zoho doesn't publish what its server says to a mailbox check, so an unclear reply stays risky.
- A group or alias accepts mail like a mailbox, so valid means the address receives mail, not that one person reads it.
- One address at a time, five a minute.
Common questions
- Can you verify a Zoho email address without sending a message?
- Often, yes. The checker asks Zoho's mail server about the address and disconnects before any message is sent. When the domain has a catch-all address, Zoho accepts everything and the result is risky instead.
- Is a zoho.com address a business email?
- No. Anyone can open a free mailbox at zoho.com, so it counts as personal webmail. A company that hosts its own domain at Zoho has a work address; the Mail host line shows Zoho Mail for those.
- What does "Accepts all addresses" mean for a Zoho domain?
- Zoho accepted a random address that can't exist, which happens when the admin has set a catch-all address. Every address at that domain then looks the same, so none can be confirmed.
- Does the person get notified?
- No. The checker disconnects after the RCPT TO step, before anything is sent.
- Is the Zoho email checker free?
- Yes, five checks a minute with no account. For a list, sign in with Google for 100 free email checks, no card.
