How to cold email insulation contractors
Small market, so personalise
There are far fewer insulation contractors than roofers or HVAC shops in most areas, and they talk to each other. A short, specific email to a few dozen companies beats a long sequence to everyone.
Mention the work they actually do
Spray foam crews and blown-in crews buy different things. If the website says which they do, use it in the first line; if it does not, ask rather than guess.
Seasonality cuts both ways
Attic work slows in the hottest weeks of summer and demand rises before winter. Time a pitch for equipment or marketing before the busy stretch, not in the middle of it.
Stay inside CAN-SPAM
CAN-SPAM does not require permission before a cold email, and it covers business-to-business mail the same as consumer mail. Every commercial message has to meet its rules:
- Accurate From, To and reply-to details, and a subject line that matches the message.
- Say clearly that the message is an advertisement or a solicitation.
- Include a valid postal address: a street address, a registered PO box or a registered private mailbox.
- Give a working way to opt out, and keep it working for at least 30 days after you send.
- Honour opt-outs within 10 business days, across every campaign and inbox you send from.
- You stay responsible for mail an agency or freelancer sends for you.
Avoid quoting savings figures or rebate amounts you cannot back up. Energy-savings claims to businesses are still claims, and the contractor will be the one repeating them to homeowners.
Read the FTC compliance guide and our CAN-SPAM guide for cold email. The phone column is for calls you are allowed to make: texting or autodialing mobile numbers has its own consent rules under the TCPA, and the calling hours checker shows the federal and state windows. This is not legal advice.
Verify before you send
Every email in the pool passed a mailbox check, and each row shows the day it did. Mailboxes still close: small businesses change domains, switch providers and shut down. If the checked_on date is more than a few weeks old when you load the campaign, check the file again before the first send, and keep bounces low on new sending domains. Inside a paid plan that check is included; for a single address, use the free email checker, and for a whole file the cold email list checker.

Common questions
- How many insulation contractors are in the pool?
- 278 with an email that passed a mailbox check, across 38 states, checked Sep 11, 2026 to Sep 30, 2026. Only leads whose check is recent enough are counted, so the number moves as leads are re-checked or age out.
- How do I get insulation leads from SimpleVerifier?
- They are included with the paid plans: 50 to 2,500 verified leads a month depending on the plan. Sign in, open Leads, choose insulation and a state, and download the CSV. Free accounts, trials and paused plans do not include them.
- What columns does the file have?
- company, email, owner_name, phone, website, city, state, vertical, checked_on. Company, email, city, state and the check date are on every row; owner name, phone and website are filled when the business publishes them.
- Are these leads exclusive?
- No. A lead goes to at most 3 different accounts, and never twice to the same account, so a list you claim is not the same list everyone else has.
- Is it legal to cold email insulation contractors?
- In the US, CAN-SPAM allows commercial email without prior permission if the message is honest about who sent it and what it is, includes a postal address and a working opt-out, and opt-outs are honoured within 10 business days. Texting or autodialing the phone numbers has separate consent rules under the TCPA. This is not legal advice.
