How do I find fake or disposable emails in a list?
Match the domain of every address against a maintained list of disposable-email providers, and flag role addresses and obvious junk separately. SimpleVerifier's checker compares against a list of 9,913 disposable domains. Disposable domains change constantly, so a static list ages quickly and needs re-checking.
What a disposable check can and cannot catch
A domain list catches known throwaway providers. It cannot catch a fake address at a normal provider (for example a made-up Gmail address); only a mailbox check can. Our study of 8,740 disposable domains on 2 October 2026 found 66.4% still had a live MX record and 21.3% no longer existed at all, which is why lists need upkeep.
- Disposable domain: caught by the domain list.
- Role address (info@, sales@): flagged separately, and often worth excluding from cold lists.
- Made-up address at a real provider: caught only by a mailbox check, where the provider allows it.

- Is a disposable email always a bad lead?
- On a signup form it usually signals a user who does not want follow-up. On a sales list it is a wasted send, so removing it is safe.

Figures marked as ours come from SimpleVerifier’s own dated tests on made-up addresses, published with their data on the research page. No customer data is used, and we publish no accuracy percentage because we have no independent measurement to back one.
Do it now
Test it on a real address first
Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.
Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.
