Can an email verifier check if a Gmail address exists?
Yes. Gmail and Google Workspace answer mailbox checks clearly: in our 23 October 2026 test, a made-up address at gmail.com and googlemail.com came back as mailbox not found in both rounds. A valid Gmail result is therefore among the more reliable results, though a mailbox can still close later.
Limits to know
Very large lists run at a measured pace on capacity shared by all customers. Google Workspace domains with custom names behave like Gmail for mailbox checks unless the domain sits behind a security gateway, which can hide the answer.

Figures marked as ours come from SimpleVerifier’s own dated tests on made-up addresses, published with their data on the research page. No customer data is used, and we publish no accuracy percentage because we have no independent measurement to back one.
Do it now
Test it on a real address first
Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.
Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.
