Can an email verifier check Outlook and Hotmail addresses?
Not reliably. Microsoft's consumer domains (outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, msn.com) do not confirm mailboxes to verification checks, so an honest verifier returns risky for them. SimpleVerifier does not probe them and says so. Microsoft 365 business domains vary with how the company's mail is set up.
What to do instead
For consumer Microsoft addresses, rely on collecting them with a confirmation step (double opt-in) and on bounce suppression after the first send. Verification still removes bad syntax and dead domains from the list.

- They apply to senders, not verifiers: domains sending over 5,000 messages a day to Outlook.com addresses must authenticate with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.

Figures marked as ours come from SimpleVerifier’s own dated tests on made-up addresses, published with their data on the research page. No customer data is used, and we publish no accuracy percentage because we have no independent measurement to back one.
Do it now
Test it on a real address first
Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.
Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.
