What are the Gmail and Yahoo bulk sender requirements?
Authenticate with SPF and DKIM, publish a DMARC record (p=none is enough), align the From domain with SPF or DKIM, support one-click unsubscribe on marketing mail, and keep the user-reported spam rate below 0.3%. Google defines a bulk sender as one sending about 5,000 or more messages a day to personal Gmail accounts.
Where the three providers differ
Yahoo does not publish a volume threshold. Microsoft's requirements for Outlook.com apply to domains sending more than 5,000 emails a day: SPF, DKIM and a DMARC policy of at least p=none, enforced from 5 May 2025. For Gmail, mailto and plain URL unsubscribe links do not meet the one-click requirement, which needs RFC 8058 headers.
Where verification fits
These rules govern how you send, not who you send to. Verification helps keep your bounce rate down, but it does not satisfy any of the authentication requirements.

- Authentication matters for everyone, since Google requires SPF or DKIM from all senders; the extra bulk requirements apply at higher volume.

Figures marked as ours come from SimpleVerifier’s own dated tests on made-up addresses, published with their data on the research page. No customer data is used, and we publish no accuracy percentage because we have no independent measurement to back one.
Do it now
Test it on a real address first
Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.
Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.
