How do I verify emails from Apollo or a scraped lead list?
Treat exported and scraped emails as unverified, even when the source marks them verified, and run them through a verifier before sending. Scraped and guessed patterns produce many risky addresses at catch-all domains, so test those in small batches instead of sending the whole list.
Why the source label is not enough
A source's verified flag is a point-in-time claim from that vendor's own method. People change jobs and mailboxes close, so check the file immediately before sending, and compare the bounce rate of the valid segment with what you were promised.
Steps
The steps, in order.
- Export from Apollo (or your scraper) with all columns.
- Verify; keep valid, suppress invalid, test risky in batches of 100 to 300.
- Remove role addresses (info@, sales@) from cold sends.

Sources
Figures marked as ours come from SimpleVerifier’s own dated tests on made-up addresses, published with their data on the research page. No customer data is used, and we publish no accuracy percentage because we have no independent measurement to back one.
Do it now
Test it on a real address first
Type any address. It gets the same check the paid plans run: syntax, the domain’s mail servers and, where the provider allows it, a live mailbox check. Nothing is sent to the address.
Five checks a minute, no account needed. Nothing is sent to the address — we ask its mail server whether the mailbox exists, then disconnect.
