BIMI SVG validator and converter: check and fix your logo for SVG Tiny PS
A BIMI SVG validator checks that a logo file meets SVG Tiny Portable/Secure (SVG Tiny PS), the restricted SVG profile BIMI requires: baseProfile="tiny-ps", version 1.2, a title, no scripts, images or external links, and a square shape. Paste or upload your SVG to see every problem, then download a converted copy with the fixable ones fixed.

How do I validate and convert an SVG for BIMI?
- Paste the SVG code or upload the .svg file exported from your design tool.
- Optionally type the brand name to use as the logo's <title>.
- Press Validate and convert. Read the checks on your file, then compare the before and after previews in circle and square crops, on light and dark backgrounds.
- Download the converted SVG, host it on HTTPS and point your BIMI record's l= tag at it. Check the published record with the BIMI checker.
Example
- You enter
- A 512 × 512 logo SVG of 6.3 KB, exported from a design tool with
baseProfile=noneandversion="1.1". - You get
- 1 fail: it isn't SVG Tiny PS yet, because it needs
baseProfile="tiny-ps"andversion="1.2". The square viewBox and the 32 KB size limit pass, and you get a converted copy with before and after previews. - Limits
- Runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded; one SVG at a time.
What is a BIMI SVG?
A BIMI SVG is a logo file in SVG Tiny PS, a cut-down SVG profile defined in the IETF draft SVG Tiny Portable/Secure. It allows only static vector shapes, gradients and text: no scripts, raster images, animation, links or interactivity, and nothing loaded from outside the file. The root element must carry version="1.2" and baseProfile="tiny-ps", with exactly one non-empty <title>.
The BIMI Group publishes the schema for the profile, which lists the only elements allowed: shapes, paths, groups, use, text, gradients, fonts, title, desc and metadata. That schema has no style element or attribute, which is why CSS has to become presentation attributes such as fill="#1F4FD8".
How do I convert an SVG to SVG Tiny PS for BIMI?
Upload the SVG above and download the converted file. The converter sets the profile attributes, removes x and y from the root (Illustrator adds them, as the BIMI Group's logo guide notes), moves CSS classes and inline styles into attributes, adds a title, removes editor metadata, scripts and event handlers, makes the viewBox square by centring the logo, and sets an absolute size of at least 96 pixels.
Some things can't be converted without changing the drawing: clipping masks, masks, filters, patterns and embedded images aren't allowed, so they are removed and listed. If the after preview loses part of the logo, flatten those in your design tool, such as releasing clipping masks, converting text to outlines and expanding effects, then convert again.
What are the BIMI logo requirements?
On top of the profile, Google's BIMI setup guide requires an absolute size of at least 96 × 96 pixels in Gmail (no percentage width or height) and recommends a logo centred in a square on a solid background, a file of 32 KB or less and a <desc> element. The Tiny PS draft also asks for at least two colours and says the file should not exceed 32 KB uncompressed.
A valid file is one of several requirements. The domain also needs DMARC at quarantine or reject, a BIMI TXT record, and for Gmail a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC) that includes the same logo. Build the record with the BIMI record generator.
Why is my BIMI logo not showing?
A failed logo check is a common reason, along with DMARC not at enforcement, a missing certificate for Gmail and Apple Mail, or a logo URL that isn't served over HTTPS as image/svg+xml. The BIMI checker fetches your published record, logo and certificate and tests all of them.
Even with everything valid, mailbox providers decide for themselves whether to display the logo, and they weigh sender reputation. The BIMI Group's FAQ for senders says support varies by provider and that large mailbox providers consider BIMI for display when authentication, enforcement, reputation and, where required, a certificate are in place.
Should I use this or the BIMI checker?
| BIMI SVG validator | BIMI checker | |
|---|---|---|
| Input | Your SVG file, before publishing | Your domain, after publishing |
| Converts the file | Yes | No |
| Checks DNS record and DMARC | No | Yes |
| Checks certificate (VMC or CMC) | No | Yes |
| Where it runs | Your browser | Our server fetches the logo |
Who uses this tool, and for what?
- Email marketers
- Fix the logo a designer exported before it goes into a VMC or CMC application, where a failed file costs time.
- Designers
- See exactly which elements of an Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape export break SVG Tiny PS, and which can be fixed automatically.
- IT and email admins
- Check the file before hosting it, then use the BIMI checker to test the published record end to end.
- Agencies
- Convert client logos without uploading brand assets to a third-party server.
What can’t this tool tell you?
- It checks the file, not whether a certificate authority will accept it for a VMC or CMC, or whether an inbox will show it.
- Clipping masks, masks, filters, patterns and embedded images are removed, not redrawn. Flatten them in a design tool if the preview changes.
- CSS with complex selectors (descendant or attribute selectors) isn't applied; simple class, id and element rules, as design tools export, are.
- The two-colour and background checks are approximate: they read attribute values, not the rendered pixels.
- Text stays as text. Converting it to outlines in your design tool avoids depending on fonts the inbox may not have.
Common questions
- What is BIMI SVG?
- A logo saved in SVG Tiny Portable/Secure, the restricted SVG profile BIMI uses: static vector shapes only, baseProfile="tiny-ps" and version 1.2, a title, and no scripts, images or external references.
- How do I create a BIMI logo?
- Design a square logo on a solid background, export it as SVG (Illustrator's SVG Tiny 1.2 export is closest), then convert it to SVG Tiny PS with a tool like this one and check the result.
- What are the BIMI logo requirements?
- SVG Tiny PS with a title, a square viewBox, no scripts, images, animation or external links, ideally 32 KB or less, and for Gmail an absolute size of at least 96 × 96 pixels.
- What size should a BIMI logo be?
- Square, at least 96 × 96 pixels in absolute units for Gmail, and 32 KB or smaller as a file. Because it's a vector, the pixel size sets the minimum, not the display size.
- How do I get a BIMI logo URL?
- Upload the converted SVG to a web server or storage bucket you control so it's served over HTTPS as image/svg+xml, and use that address in the l= tag of your BIMI record.
- Is there a free BIMI SVG converter?
- Yes, this one. It runs in your browser and converts the parts that can be converted automatically, and lists anything, such as clipping masks or embedded images, that needs fixing in a design tool.
