Hunter vs MillionVerifier: Which Should Verify Your Cold Email List?

··4 min read

MillionVerifier is the cheaper choice if all you need is verification: 10,000 checks cost $39 once, while Hunter needs its $149-a-month Growth plan to cover 10,000 verifications a month. Hunter is worth it when you also use it to find emails and send sequences, because verification shares one credit pool with everything else Hunter does.

Prices below were read on Hunter's pricing page, Hunter's verifier page and MillionVerifier's site on 6 November 2026. Check both before you buy.

How each one charges

Hunter is a suite. Its plans give monthly credits that pay for finding, verifying and other actions. One verification costs 0.5 credit, so each credit is two checks.

Hunter plan Monthly billing Yearly billing Credits a month Verifications a month
Free $0 $0 50 100
Starter $49 $408 a year 2,000 4,000
Growth $149 $1,248 a year 10,000 20,000
Scale $299 $2,508 a year 25,000 50,000

MillionVerifier sells one-time credit packs for verification only, and says the credits never expire.

MillionVerifier pack Price Per 1,000
10,000 $39 $3.90
50,000 $89 $1.78
100,000 $149 $1.49
500,000 $299 $0.60
1,000,000 $449 $0.45

Cost if you verify every month

Cold email teams re-check leads before every campaign, so a monthly figure is the honest comparison. Hunter at its monthly price, MillionVerifier buying the matching pack each month.

Which fits which buyer

You are... Better fit
Finding emails in Hunter and sending from Hunter Hunter, and verify there
Buying leads from Apollo or a data vendor, cleaning them before a sequencer A dedicated verifier
Cleaning a 2,000,000-row archive once MillionVerifier
Re-checking 20,000 to 100,000 leads every month A flat monthly plan

If you do keep Hunter for finding, you can still export its leads and verify them elsewhere. Our Hunter export to email list tool turns the export into a clean column, and clean a Hunter export before a sequence walks through it.

Catch-all domains

Many B2B domains accept mail for every address, so no verifier can prove a single mailbox exists there. Hunter labels these accept-all and charges for them. MillionVerifier says catch-all checks are included in its price.

SimpleVerifier never calls a catch-all valid. Those rows come back risky, with a higher, medium or lower likelihood grade, so you can choose how deep into the catch-all pile to send. Our guide on sending to catch-all emails covers the rules, and the catch-all checker tests a domain for free.

How to decide fairly

  1. Take 500 rows from your own list, including some known bounces.
  2. Run them through each tool on the free allowance.
  3. Compare how each labels catch-all and unknown rows.
  4. Send only to the valid rows and count bounces.
  5. Price your real monthly volume with the verification cost calculator.

Common questions

Is Hunter or MillionVerifier cheaper for email verification?

MillionVerifier, by a wide margin, if you only verify. On prices read on 6 November 2026, 10,000 MillionVerifier credits cost $39 once, while Hunter's Growth plan ($149 a month) gives 10,000 credits, which is 20,000 verifications at 0.5 credit each. Hunter's cheapest paid plan, Starter at $49 a month, covers 4,000 verifications.

Do Hunter credits roll over?

Not on monthly billing. Hunter's pricing page says credits reset monthly and don't roll over. MillionVerifier says its credits never expire.

Does Hunter charge for unknown results?

No. Hunter's verifier page says valid, invalid and accept-all are charged, and unknown and disposable are free. It also says bulk uploads are always charged, including repeat addresses.

Which is better for cold email?

If Hunter is already your finder and outreach tool, its built-in verifier is convenient. If you buy leads elsewhere and only need to clean them, a dedicated verifier costs less per check. Test both on the same 500 rows of your own list before deciding.

Which is more accurate?

We do not publish accuracy figures for any vendor, ourselves included. Run the same sample through each, send only to the valid rows, and compare bounces.
