Hunter vs Clearout: Finder Suites Compared for Email Verification

··3 min read

Clearout costs less per verification than Hunter, and its unused credits roll over while Hunter's reset every month. On 6 November 2026, 10,000 Clearout credits a month were $58 on monthly billing, against $149 a month for Hunter's Growth plan (20,000 checks).

Both are finder-plus-verifier tools, which makes this a closer fight than Hunter against a pure verifier. Sources: Hunter pricing, Hunter verifier, Clearout pricing and Clearout's pricing guide, read 6 November 2026.

Who should use which

  • Hunter if your team prospects inside Hunter's Chrome extension and sends from Hunter. One login, one pool.
  • Clearout if you want a finder and verifier together but hate losing unused credits at month end.
  • A dedicated verifier if your leads come from Apollo, Clay, scraped sites or several vendors, and the only job left is cleaning them before the sequencer.

Catch-all is the real cost

Both tools charge for catch-all results, and on many B2B lists those are a big share of rows. You pay, and still don't know if the mailbox exists. SimpleVerifier returns catch-alls as risky, never valid, with a higher, medium or lower likelihood grade so you can decide how many to send. See catch-all email verification and should you send to catch-all emails.

Fair test

Take 500 rows of your own list, run them through each free tier, and compare labels and bounces. The verifier comparison tool lines up the results. More: Clearout alternatives, Clearout pricing explained, Hunter pricing explained.

Try SimpleVerifier on the same rows: the first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in on the verify page.
