Hunter.io Pricing Explained: What Email Verification Really Costs

··3 min read

Hunter.io costs $49, $149 or $299 a month on monthly billing for 2,000, 10,000 or 25,000 credits, and a verification costs half a credit. That makes Starter 4,000 checks a month, Growth 20,000 and Scale 50,000, as long as you spend no credits on finding or anything else.

All figures were read on Hunter's pricing page and Hunter's verifier page on 6 November 2026. Check them before you buy.

What gets charged

From Hunter's verifier page:

Result Charged?
Valid Yes
Invalid Yes
Accept-all Yes
Unknown No
Disposable No
Repeat address in a bulk upload Yes, bulk uploads are always charged

Accept-all matters on B2B lists. Those domains accept every address, so the result can't confirm the person exists, and you still pay for it.

The shared pool

Hunter is a suite: finding emails, enrichment, sequences and verification all draw from the same credits. If your team finds 3,000 emails a month on Growth, only 7,000 credits are left for verification. That's the main thing to model before you pick a plan.

Reset, not rollover

On monthly billing, Hunter's page says credits reset monthly and don't roll over. A quiet month means unused credits are gone. Yearly billing gives the year's credits upfront.

When Hunter is worth it

  • You find most of your leads with Hunter's extension or domain search.
  • You send sequences from Hunter.
  • Your verification volume fits inside the plan you already pay for.

If most of your leads come from Apollo, Clay, scraped sites or a data vendor, you are paying suite prices for a verifier. A common setup is to find in Hunter, export, and verify elsewhere. The Hunter export to email list tool pulls the email column out of the export, and clean a Hunter export before a sequence covers the full routine.

How SimpleVerifier handles accept-all

SimpleVerifier never calls a catch-all address valid. Those rows come back risky with a higher, medium or lower likelihood grade, so you choose how deep to send. See catch-all email verification.

Common questions

How much does Hunter.io cost?

On 6 November 2026, Hunter's pricing page listed Free ($0, 50 credits a month), Starter ($49 a month or $408 a year, 2,000 credits), Growth ($149 a month or $1,248 a year, 10,000 credits) and Scale ($299 a month or $2,508 a year, 25,000 credits). Enterprise is custom.

How many emails can I verify on Hunter's free plan?

100 a month. The free plan has 50 credits, and a verification costs 0.5 credit.

Do Hunter credits roll over?

Not on monthly billing. The pricing page says credits reset monthly and don't roll over. Yearly plans make the year's credits available upfront; the page does not say whether unused yearly credits carry over.

Does Hunter charge for accept-all results?

Yes. Hunter's verifier page says it charges for valid, invalid and accept-all, and not for unknown or disposable.

Is it cheaper to verify Hunter leads somewhere else?

Often, if you verify a lot. Hunter's Growth plan works out to $7.45 per 1,000 checks if all credits go to verification. Dedicated verifiers publish lower per-check prices, and a flat plan can cost less again at high volume.
