Clearout Alternatives: Monthly vs Annual Pricing and Cheaper One-Off Options
Clearout's lowest prices require paying for a year up front: its 10,000-a-month plan was $58 billed monthly but $32 a month billed yearly in the prices we checked. If you want month-to-month billing or only need a one-off clean, several alternatives publish lower prices, and a flat monthly plan avoids per-credit costs at high volume.
Clearout does more than bulk verification, including tools for finding and enriching contacts, so if you use those, factor them in.

Annual billing: worth it or not?
Clearout's annual price is a real discount, so the question is whether you will use it for a year.
| Your situation | Sensible choice |
|---|---|
| Steady volume, certain for 12 months | Annual plans can be good value |
| Volume varies month to month | Month-to-month or one-time credits |
| One list now, nothing planned | One-time credits from the lowest-priced vendor |

Our paid plans are billed monthly; current prices are on the pricing page.
When to keep Clearout
- You use its other features for finding or enriching contacts.
- You are on an annual plan with credits left; use them.
- Its results on your lists have been reliable.
Our Clearout comparison page covers where Clearout is stronger, and switching from Clearout covers exporting your results before they expire.
When to switch
- You pay month to month and verify tens of thousands of addresses a month.
- You want to stop tracking credits and rollover balances.
- You want phone format and line-type checks in the same plan.
Use the verification cost calculator to compare a year of each option at your volume.
Test before switching
- Pick a random 300 to 500 addresses from a list already verified with Clearout, using the email list sampler.
- Verify them in the alternative.
- Compare catch-all, unknown and invalid labels row by row. Bench testing email verifiers explains how to keep the comparison fair.
A worked example: one year at 25,000 a month
Suppose you add about 15,000 new leads a month and re-check 10,000 older contacts before campaigns, so 25,000 checks a month. Using the published prices above:
| Option | Monthly | Year |
|---|---|---|
| Clearout, 25,000 tier billed monthly | $146 | $1,752 |
| Clearout one-time credits (two 10,000 packs plus one 5,000 pack each month) | $170 | $2,040 |
| DeBounce pay as you go, 25,000 pack each month | $45 | $540 |
| EmailListVerify monthly, 25,000 tier | $49 | $588 |
Clearout's annual billing would lower its line, so check its yearly price for the 25,000 tier on the pricing page before comparing. The point of the exercise is the method: count your real monthly volume, then multiply out a year for each option. Small differences per 1,000 become large over twelve months.
What a switch does not change
Changing verifier does not fix a list that was bad to begin with. If most of a lead source comes back invalid or catch-all, the problem is the source, and no verifier will make it send well. Use the switch as a chance to look at bounce and invalid rates by lead source, and drop the sources that keep failing. How to check a lead list's quality shows how to sample a source before buying more from it.
It also does not replace sending hygiene. Authentication, warm-up and sensible daily volume still matter; see the cold email deliverability guide.
