Do You Need to Re-Verify Findymail Emails? The 5% Guarantee vs Your Sequencer's 2% Pause

··3 min read

Findymail verifies each email when you request it, so a fresh Findymail result usually doesn't need a second check; an older or mixed list does. Re-verify when the list is more than a few days old, when it mixes Findymail with other sources, or when it's big enough that a few percent of bounces would trip your sequencer. Findymail's guarantee refunds credits above 5% bounces, but many sending tools pause at 2%, and a refund doesn't repair a burned inbox.

What Findymail says

From Findymail's pricing page, read 8 November 2026:

  • "Every email is verified in real-time when you request it."
  • "We verify catch-all emails that competitors mark as 'risky.'"
  • "Guaranteed <5% bounce rate." and "If your bounce rate exceeds 5%, we refund your credits."
  • "You only pay for verified results. No charge if we can't find it."

That's a strong offer for a finder, and the real-time check means a result you pull today and send today is as fresh as it gets.

Where a second check still pays

1. The 5% line is above your sequencer's

Woodpecker's Bounce Shield pauses a campaign at 2% by default (Woodpecker's page). Saleshandy pauses on "too many" bounces and stops an email account after 5 consecutive block bounces (Saleshandy's help center). Apollo pauses at your team's Bounce guard thresholds. A list that bounces at 4% is inside Findymail's guarantee and outside most sending tools' comfort zone. See bounce rate thresholds by platform.

2. Lists age

Findymail checks at request time. If you built a list in October for a December campaign, people have left jobs in between. Re-verify leads older than 30 days.

3. Catch-alls are still catch-alls

Findymail says it verifies catch-alls others mark risky. It doesn't publish how. A catch-all server accepts any address during an SMTP check, so whatever method is used, the final answer comes from signals other than the server saying yes. Those addresses carry more risk than mailboxes that were confirmed directly, and it's worth knowing which rows they are. SimpleVerifier reports them risky with a grade and the reason, never as valid (catch-all scoring), so you can send them as their own batch.

4. Mixed files

Most outbound lists combine sources: a Findymail run, an Apollo export, a scraped segment. One send-day check across the merged file gives you one standard to send on.

The routine

  1. Merge every source into one CSV with a single email column; dedupe with remove duplicate emails.
  2. If the Findymail rows were pulled in the last day or two, you can skip them and verify the rest; otherwise verify everything.
  3. Upload to the verify page or the CSV email verifier.
  4. Main campaign: valid rows. Second batch: catch-alls, highest grades first, a few hundred at a time. Suppress invalid rows.
  5. Stop any batch that passes 2% hard bounces and check the bounce text before resuming.

Is a second check a waste of money?

It depends on how you pay for it. Per-check credits make re-checking feel expensive. A flat plan doesn't: on SimpleVerifier, re-verifying the same 20,000 contacts before each campaign costs the same as checking them once.

  • Starter, $9 a month: 2,500 checks.
  • Pro, $39 a month: Unlimited email verification.*
  • Business, $99 a month: the first 300,000 checks a month at full speed, 5 seats.
  • Agency, $249 a month: the first 750,000 checks a month at full speed, 15 seats, client workspaces.

*Pro fair use: the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off. See pricing. Check your list free: the first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in.

Common questions

Does Findymail verify emails?

Yes. Its pricing page says every email is verified in real time when you request it, that you only pay for verified results, and that it verifies catch-all emails other tools mark as risky.

What is Findymail's bounce guarantee?

Its pricing page says 'Guaranteed <5% bounce rate' and 'If your bounce rate exceeds 5%, we refund your credits.' Check the current terms on the page for how bounce rate is measured.

If Findymail verifies emails, why verify again?

Because the check is at request time and lists sit before they're sent, because 5% is above where many sequencers pause, and because no outside check can fully confirm a catch-all mailbox. A send-day check catches decay and lets you split catch-alls out.

How should I treat Findymail catch-all results?

As higher risk than confirmed addresses, whatever label they carry. Send them in a smaller batch after your confirmed ones and stop if that batch passes 2% hard bounces.
