Snov.io Alternatives for Finding and Verifying Email Addresses

··6 min read

The best Snov.io alternative depends on how you use it. If you mainly find emails, compare tools on what a found, sendable address costs, because billing rules differ. On October 2026 pricing, Hunter worked out at about $0.025 per found address, Findymail about $0.020, Voila Norbert about $0.049 and Snov.io about $0.039 on entry plans.

Those figures are only comparable once you know what each vendor charges a credit for. That is what most alternatives pages skip, so it is the focus here.

What Snov.io charges for

From Snov.io's pricing page and credit knowledge base, as of October 2026:

Item Snov.io
Trial Free, 50 credits a month
Starter $39 a month, 1,000 credits, 5,000 recipients
Pro S $99 a month, 5,000 credits, 25,000 recipients
Annual billing 25% off
Email finding 1 credit for a green (verified) email, and 1 credit for a yellow (not fully verified) email
Email Verifier 1 credit for a valid or invalid result; unknown results are free

The yellow-email rule is the one to notice. When the finder cannot confirm a mailbox (common on catch-all domains) you still pay for the find. If you then send that address to the Email Verifier, it costs another credit if the result is valid or invalid, and nothing if it stays unknown.

That is not unusual or wrong; it is a billing choice. But it means credits per dollar is the wrong way to compare finders.

How we compared

We looked at four ways to get a found, checked email address:

  1. An all-in-one finder with verification built in (Snov.io, Hunter, Voila Norbert, Findymail).
  2. A split stack: a finder for discovery plus a separate verifier.

For each we read the vendor's own pricing page and help documentation on 1 October 2026, and recorded:

  • Price per credit on the cheapest paid monthly plan.
  • What earns a charge: any found address, only verified ones, or only ones that do not bounce.
  • Verification: included in the find, or a separate charge.

Apollo was on our list, but its pricing page did not show prices in its text on the day, so we have left it out rather than guess.

The comparison

Tool Entry paid plan Finds included Cost per found address Charged for Verification
Findymail $99/mo 5,000 finder + 5,000 verifier credits ~$0.020 Verified results only Built in, plus separate verifier credits
Hunter $49/mo 2,000 credits ~$0.025 Emails found; nothing if not found Included in the find credit; standalone checks 0.5 credit
Snov.io $39/mo 1,000 credits ~$0.039 Green and yellow emails Separate Email Verifier, 1 credit per valid/invalid
Voila Norbert $49/mo 1,000 leads ~$0.049 "One credit is one correct email address" Separate pay-as-you-go: $0.003/email up to 500,000

Cost per found address is the plan price divided by the finds it includes, assuming you use every credit. If you use half, double it.

Why the cheapest per credit is not always cheapest per send

The number that matters is cost per address you can actually send to. Two rules move it:

Charged for unverified finds. Snov.io charges for yellow emails. If a sizeable share of your finds are yellow and you choose not to send to them, your cost per sendable address rises. Findymail says it charges only for verified results, so its per-credit price is closer to its per-sendable price.

Refunds for bounces. Voila Norbert's FAQ says it will refund credits for found addresses that bounce. Findymail's pricing page promises a refund of credits if your bounce rate is above 5 percent. Those guarantees shift risk back to the vendor, which is worth something even at a higher price per credit.

A worked example makes it concrete. Suppose you need 1,000 sendable addresses, and on your market 20 percent of the finder's results come back unconfirmed.

Tool Credits spent What you get
Snov.io (Starter, $39) 1,000 finds charged About 800 confirmed and 200 yellow; to reach 1,000 confirmed you need roughly 250 more finds, which needs a bigger plan
Findymail (Starter, $99) Charged only for verified 1,000 verified uses 1,000 of 5,000 credits
Hunter (Starter, $49) 1 credit per found email, verification included 1,000 found uses 1,000 of 2,000 credits; check the status of each result before sending

The 20 percent is an assumption for illustration, not a measured rate; your share will depend on your industry and how many target companies use catch-all mail servers.

Alternatives, by what you use Snov.io for

If you use Snov.io for finding only: Hunter or Findymail

Hunter is the closest like-for-like: a domain search, an email finder, verification included in the find, and a separate verifier at half a credit per check. Its Starter plan gives 2,000 credits for $49. Findymail costs more per month but bundles 5,000 finder credits and 5,000 verifier credits, charges only for verified results, and rolls unused credits over up to twice your monthly allowance.

If you want to pay only for correct addresses: Voila Norbert

Voila Norbert charges per correct address and says it does not charge for duplicates. It is dearer per find on its entry plan, but its refund for bounced finds suits small teams who would rather pay more than manage bounces.

If you use Snov.io for sequences too

Snov.io bundles outreach (recipients, warm-up, sequences) with finding. Moving finding elsewhere does not replace that. Many teams keep their sending tool and move only discovery and verification, or the reverse.

A split stack: any finder plus a dedicated verifier

Finder credits are expensive compared with verification credits. If you already have addresses from your CRM, a website or an export, verifying them costs a fraction of finding them: on October 2026 prices, dedicated verifiers charged between $11.90 and $129 for 10,000 checks (see best email verification tools). A finder for discovery and a separate verifier for everything else is often cheaper than running all checks through finder credits.

What to check before switching

  1. Export your Snov.io prospects with their status so you do not pay to find them again.
  2. Ask each candidate what earns a charge. Found, verified, or not bounced.
  3. Test on 50 contacts you already know the answer for, and compare the confirmed-versus-unknown split.
  4. Re-check catch-all results before sending. Whatever tool you choose, an unconfirmed address at a catch-all domain is a guess. Should you email catch-all addresses? covers how to handle them.

Disclosure — our product

SimpleVerifier, which publishes this blog, includes an email finder (name plus domain to a verified address) and bulk verification on a $29.99-a-month flat plan with no credits. Throughput is 45 addresses a minute, and unconfirmed addresses are returned as risky rather than valid. It does not include outreach sequences.

The takeaway

Compare finders on cost per sendable address, not credits per dollar. Read what each vendor charges a credit for, assume some finds will be unconfirmed, and price the whole job: finding, verifying and the bounces you are left holding.

Common questions

What is the best alternative to Snov.io?

It depends on whether you use Snov.io for outreach or only for finding emails. For finding alone, Hunter, Voila Norbert and Findymail each charge differently per found address; for outreach, you would be replacing a whole sequencing tool. Compare on cost per sendable address, not credits per dollar.

Does Snov.io charge for unverified emails?

Its knowledge base says it charges 1 credit for green (verified) emails and also 1 credit for yellow emails it could not fully verify. In its separate Email Verifier, valid and invalid results cost 1 credit each and unknown results are free.

Which email finder only charges for verified emails?

Findymail's pricing page says you only pay for verified results and are not charged when it cannot find a working email. Voila Norbert says one credit is one correct email address and it refunds credits for found addresses that bounce. Hunter says it charges only when an email is found and includes verification in that credit.

How much does Snov.io cost?

Snov.io's pricing page in October 2026 listed a free Trial with 50 credits a month, Starter at $39 a month for 1,000 credits, and Pro S at $99 a month for 5,000 credits, with 25 percent off for annual billing. One credit buys one prospect or one verification.
