Is Clearout Legit? Who Runs It, Prices, Refunds and Credit Expiry (November 2026)

··2 min read

Yes, Clearout is legit: it's a working email verifier operated by Clearout Inc, with a San Francisco notice address and California law in its terms. It sells both monthly plans and one-time credits. Three things to check before you buy: payments are non-refundable, its terms put a one-year idle limit on discounted credits, and the low monthly headline price needs annual billing.

Sources: Clearout's terms and conditions (effective 24 May 2024), privacy policy and pricing, read 3 November 2026. We sell a competing verifier; we make no claims about Clearout's accuracy.

What it costs

Pay-as-you-go, checked 3 November 2026:

Pack Price Per 1,000
5,000 $40 $8.00
10,000 $65 $6.50
100,000 $400 $4.00
250,000 $750 $3.00
500,000 $1,000 $2.00
1,000,000 $1,400 $1.40

Monthly, billed month to month: $23 for 3,000, $58 for 10,000, $360 for 100,000 and $1,260 for 1,000,000. Billed yearly, 10,000 a month is $32 a month. All sizes with check dates are on the Clearout pricing page.

The credit expiry question

Our pricing record of Clearout's product feed lists one-time credits as non-expiring, while its terms say discounted credits can sit idle for at most a year, "extended depending on usage frequency or based on mutual agreement". If you're buying a large pack to use slowly, ask Clearout in writing which rule applies before you pay, since refunds aren't available.

Who it suits

Clearout suits teams that want a prospecting database and integrations bundled with verification, and who are happy to commit to annual billing for the lower monthly price.

The catches

  1. No refunds. Test on a sample first.
  2. Monthly vs yearly gap. 10,000 a month is $58 monthly against $32 a month yearly.
  3. Per-pass billing. Re-checking a list spends credits again.

Where SimpleVerifier fits

If you re-check big lists monthly, Pro is $39 a month with the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off, billed month to month. Clean obvious junk first with the email list cleaner, then run a sample through both: the first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in at /verify.
