HighLevel LC Email Validation or a Check Before Import? Cost at 10,000, 50,000 and 100,000 Contacts

··3 min read

HighLevel's LC Email Validation costs $2.50 per 1,000 checks and runs automatically before a contact's first email, then again after 90 days. It's a good fit for a sub-account that sends through LC Email or Mailgun and grows from opted-in sign-ups. For a big imported list, a check before import costs less and lets you see what's in the file before it's in the CRM. At list price, one pass is $25 for 10,000 contacts, $125 for 50,000 and $250 for 100,000, before agency markup.

Facts below are from HighLevel's enable and rebill LC Email Validation article (modified 4 June 2026), read 2 November 2026.

What HighLevel's validation does

  • Checks: syntax, the domain's MX records, and the mailbox through an SMTP ping that sends no message. Its FAQ adds a check against Mailgun's known bad list, high-risk status and role addresses like info@.
  • Statuses: Not Verified, Invalid (won't be emailed) and Verified.
  • When: before the first email to a contact that isn't already verified, or on demand from the contact's page. Earlier emails aren't affected.
  • Re-checks: verifications expire after 90 days and the address is re-checked before the next send.
  • Where it works: LC Email and Mailgun only.
  • Where to turn it on: at agency level under Settings > Email Services > Location Settings > Email Verification (per sub-account or in bulk), or in a sub-account under Settings > Business Profile.

What it costs at three list sizes

Contacts One pass at $2.50 / 1,000 HighLevel Unlimited plan rebill (1.05x) SimpleVerifier before import
10,000 $25 $26.25 $15 one-time pack
50,000 $125 $131.25 $49 one-time pack
100,000 $250 $262.50 $79 one-time pack

On HighLevel's Pro plan an agency can rebill at anywhere from 1.05x to 10x, so what a client sees can be much higher. The 90-day re-check adds another pass for contacts you keep emailing; the article doesn't break that out separately, so budget as if each re-check is a new verification. SimpleVerifier's packs are CSV only and never expire; Pro is $39 a month with the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off. Run your own numbers in the verification cost calculator.

When the built-in check is the right call

  • New contacts arrive a few at a time through forms and funnels.
  • The sub-account sends only through LC Email or Mailgun.
  • You want nothing to set up, and $2.50 per 1,000 is small next to the client's fee.

When to check before import instead

  1. A big imported list. Check it first and import only the contacts worth emailing, so dead ones never enter your automations or get a validation charge at first send.
  2. You need more than three statuses. HighLevel's article defines Verified, Invalid and Not Verified. A verifier that labels catch-all, role and disposable separately lets you decide per segment. See risky emails.
  3. Sending happens outside LC Email or Mailgun, for example cold email from a separate tool.
  4. Many sub-accounts. One plan across clients is simpler to budget than per-check charges in each.

The steps for exporting, checking and re-importing are in export GoHighLevel contacts to a clean list, and the GoHighLevel export tool prepares the CSV in your browser. Our verify leads in GoHighLevel post covers checking inside workflows through the API.

Why it matters either way

Bounces and provider blocks both count against a HighLevel sub-account. See HighLevel bounce suspension and HighLevel ESP block for the thresholds. Whichever route you choose, don't send to a list nobody has checked.

Where SimpleVerifier fits

SimpleVerifier checks a CSV before it goes into HighLevel, or single addresses inside a workflow through the API (Pro and up). The first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in on the verify page. See pricing and the best email verifier for GoHighLevel comparison.

Common questions

How much does HighLevel email validation cost?

HighLevel's help article lists LC Email Validation at $2.50 per 1,000 email verifications, available on all plans. Agencies on Unlimited rebill at a fixed 1.05x markup and on Pro at 1.05x to 10x; Starter has no rebilling.

When does HighLevel verify an email?

Before the first email is sent to a contact, if the address isn't already verified. You can also trigger it from the contact's details page. Verifications expire after 90 days, and the address is re-checked before the next send.

Does HighLevel email validation work with SMTP or Google Workspace sending?

No. The help article says it's available for LC Email and Mailgun only.

Is it cheaper to verify outside HighLevel?

For a large one-off import it can be: SimpleVerifier's one-time pack of 100,000 checks is $79 against $250 at HighLevel's list rate. For a trickle of new sign-ups the built-in check is simpler and the cost is small. Compare on your own volumes.
