Is Hunter's Email Verifier Legit? Who Runs It, Prices and Credit Resets (November 2026)

··2 min read

Yes, Hunter is legit: it's an established email finder and outreach platform run by Hunter Web Services, Inc., a Delaware company, and its verifier is part of that platform. You don't buy verification on its own; each check takes half a credit from the same monthly pool you use for finding emails. Before you buy for verification alone, note that monthly credits reset and that cancellations aren't refunded.

What verification costs

Monthly plans, checked 3 November 2026, assuming every credit goes on verification:

Plan Price Credits Verifications Per 1,000 verifications
Starter $49/mo 2,000 4,000 $12.25
Growth $149/mo 10,000 20,000 $7.45
Scale $299/mo 25,000 50,000 $5.98

Starter is $408 a year on yearly billing. Every plan with its check date is on the Hunter pricing page.

Who it suits

Hunter suits teams that use it as an outreach platform: finding emails, campaigns, sequences, connected mailboxes and its writing assistant. Its verifier is convenient when you're already paying for that. A dedicated verifier replaces one part of Hunter, not all of it.

If you export leads from Hunter, the Hunter export to email list tool pulls a clean column out of the CSV, and clean a Hunter export before a sequence walks through the rest.

The catches

  1. Shared credit pool. Verifying a big list uses credits you might need for finding.
  2. Monthly reset. An unused allowance is gone at renewal.
  3. No cancellation refunds. Use the free plan on a sample first.

Where SimpleVerifier fits

If you only need verification, or verify more than your Hunter credits cover, Pro is $39 a month with the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off. The first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in at /verify. See SimpleVerifier vs Hunter and the Hunter.io alternatives roundup.
