Filing a Yahoo Sender Support Request: When It Helps, What to Have Ready, and What Yahoo Says It Can't Promise
Fix what you can see first (authentication, complaints, invalid addresses, sudden volume jumps), then open a ticket under Problems Delivering Mails on Yahoo's Sender Hub with the exact error and diagnostic codes from your logs. Yahoo will review it and adjust your reputation as it sees fit; it says it can't guarantee inbox delivery.

When Yahoo says to file one
| Situation | Yahoo's wording |
|---|---|
| Delivery trouble | "having difficulties sending to a Yahoo email address" |
| New sender or IP | "a new sender or have a new IP" |
| Expected trouble | when you "anticipate difficulty", such as "a large launch or a legal notification" |
| TS deferrals | if you see "the same error consistently over an extended period of time" |
Other routes on the same Contact page: Report Abuse (abuse coming from Yahoo and AOL domains), Complaint Feedback Loop setup, and email addresses for general and developer questions. Pick the right one; a delivery ticket is for your mail not reaching Yahoo and AOL users.
Before you file
- Read the errors. Yahoo says 4xx errors, including TS deferrals, are temporary and can be retried; persistent ones are what a ticket is for. Yahoo TSS04 deferral covers the most common one.
- Remove invalid recipients. Yahoo flags senders who hit too many unknown recipients; see Yahoo excessive unknown recipients.
- Check complaints. Yahoo says it may defer mail from domains with a high complaint rate. Enrol your DKIM d= domain in the Complaint Feedback Loop to see them; reading feedback loop reports turns them into a suppression list.
- Smooth the volume. Yahoo warns that a sudden spike can get you flagged as compromised, and advises spreading a campaign out over time. Splitting Yahoo and AOL recipients into their own capped send helps; see segmenting by mailbox provider.
- Meet the bulk sender basics: SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe. See Gmail and Yahoo bulk sender requirements.
What to put in it
Yahoo's pages ask for the error and diagnostic codes from your logs and don't list the form's other fields, so prepare these and give whatever the form asks:
- The full SMTP response lines, copied exactly, with timestamps (and time zone).
- Your sending IPs and the domains in your From and DKIM d=.
- Volume: roughly how much you send to Yahoo-hosted addresses per day, and whether that changed recently.
- What kind of mail it is and how recipients signed up.
- What you've already changed: invalid addresses removed, complaint sources dropped, volume spread out. State only what's done.
Limits
A ticket asks Yahoo to look again; Yahoo decides, gives no published response time, and says it can't guarantee inbox delivery. If the problem is complaints or a list people didn't sign up for, the ticket won't outlast the next send to it.
Where SimpleVerifier fits
Before filing, upload the Yahoo and AOL part of your list at /verify so the next send doesn't hit the unknown-recipient problem again; the Yahoo email checker covers single addresses. The first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in. Pro is $39 a month with the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off. See pricing.
Common questions
Where do I file a Yahoo sender support request?
On the Contact page of Yahoo's Sender Hub (senders.yahooinc.com), under Problems Delivering Mails, which opens a ticket. It covers mail to both Yahoo and AOL mailboxes.
What should a Yahoo sender support request include?
Yahoo asks for the error and diagnostic codes from your logs. It also helps to give the full SMTP response lines with timestamps, your sending IPs and domain, the volume you send to Yahoo-hosted addresses, and what you've already changed.
How long does Yahoo take to respond?
Yahoo's pages don't give a timeframe. They say Yahoo will review the information and modify your reputation as needed.
Can a support request fix a complaint problem?
Not on its own. Yahoo says it may defer mail from domains with a high complaint rate, so lower complaints first by removing contacts who didn't ask for your mail. Enrolling in Yahoo's Complaint Feedback Loop shows you who complained.
Check your list before you send
Real mailbox checks over SMTP, and nothing is sent to the address. Sign in with Google and your first 100 email checks are free, no card. Plans for bigger lists are on the pricing page.
