Elastic Email's Built-In Verification: What's Included and When You Need More

··3 min read

If you're on a paid Elastic Email plan, you already have some verification. Its Email Verification Service is included with Email Marketing and Email API plans, up to a monthly allowance tied to your plan. For many senders that covers a full list clean each month, and it's the first thing to use. It stops being enough in a few specific cases, covered below.

Sources, read 2 November 2026: Elastic Email Help Center Email Verification Service, how to reduce email bounce rate and bounce error categories and filters.

What's included

Plan Monthly verification allowance
Email Marketing Starter 1x your contact limit
Email Marketing PRO 5x your contact limit (a 5,000-contact PRO plan can verify 25,000)
Email API (Starter or PRO) 1x your sending limit
Free Single verification only
Sub-accounts Not available

Upload a CSV with one column labelled "Email" under Verifications, start the job, then open the detailed results. Statuses are VERIFIED, LOW RISK, HIGH RISK and INVALID, with domain status, role-address identification and suggested corrections for misspellings. The article doesn't say INVALID contacts are removed for you.

When the included checks are enough

  • Your list fits inside the monthly allowance.
  • You're cleaning contacts already in Elastic Email.
  • You verify from the main account.

In that case, run it, suppress INVALID, hold HIGH RISK out of campaigns, and send LOW RISK after the VERIFIED group.

When you need something else

  • The list is bigger than the allowance, for example a one-off import of an old list several times your contact limit on Starter.
  • You're on the Free plan or a sub-account, where bulk verification isn't available.
  • You want to check before addresses become contacts. Importing first and verifying second means dead addresses count toward your contact limit in the meantime; checking the CSV before import avoids that.
  • You need checks at signup in another app. An API check on your form stops typos before they reach any list; see real-time verification on signup forms.

The verification cost calculator prices a list across vendors if you're comparing.

Step by step for an import

  1. Export from the old platform and drop past bounces and unsubscribes.
  2. Cut stale contacts. Elastic Email's guide says addresses not emailed in over six months are likely stale.
  3. Verify with Elastic Email's service if it fits your allowance, or on the verify page if it doesn't.
  4. Import only valid results, then send risky and unknown ones in a smaller later send.
  5. Verify your sending domain's DNS records, which Elastic Email's bounce guide also recommends; the deliverability checker shows what's missing.

What verification can't settle

No verifier, Elastic Email's or ours, confirms every address. Catch-all domains accept all mail, and Microsoft consumer mailboxes (outlook.com, hotmail.com) often don't answer single-mailbox checks reliably. Treat those as risky. And as Elastic Email says, a live campaign is the wrong place to test uncertain addresses; bounce rate explains why each bounce counts against you.

Where SimpleVerifier fits

For lists over your Elastic Email allowance, verify on the verify page; the first 100 checks are free with a Google sign-in. Pro is $39 a month with the first 100,000 checks a month at full speed, then slower, never cut off. See pricing.

Common questions

Is Elastic Email's email verification free?

It's included with paid Email Marketing and Email API plans at no extra per-check charge, up to a monthly limit: 1x your contact limit on Marketing Starter, 5x on Marketing PRO, 1x your sending limit on Email API. Free plans get single verification only.

What do Elastic Email's verification statuses mean?

VERIFIED means confirmed active and able to receive email. LOW RISK is likely valid but not confirmed. HIGH RISK is likely invalid or likely to trigger anti-spam measures. INVALID is confirmed invalid, for example bad format or a non-existent address.

Can Elastic Email suspend my account for bounces?

Its help centre says sending to a poor-quality list results in high bounce rates and can put your account at risk of suspension. It doesn't publish a single bounce number in that article; contact its support if your account is restricted.

Does Elastic Email remove INVALID contacts automatically?

Its verification article doesn't say so. It says the detailed results help you decide whether to keep a contact, so remove or suppress INVALID results yourself.

Check your list before you send

Real mailbox checks over SMTP, and nothing is sent to the address. Sign in with Google and your first 100 email checks are free, no card. Plans for bigger lists are on the pricing page.
